Silver Alert issued for 77-year-old Raleigh man

Raleigh police were searching early Friday for a 77-year-old man who is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment. 

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for John Jacob Harris at about midnight after he went missing from a home in the 2400 block of Bedford Avenue. 

Harris, who also goes by the nickname Jake, is 6 feet tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He has short gray hair and brown eyes. 

When he disappeared, Harris was wearing khaki pants, a black windbreaker, white New Balance tennis shoes and a plaid shirt. 

He could be traveling in a white 1995 Cadillac CP with North Carolina license tag VPP6630. It wasn't clear where Harris may be headed.
