Silver Alert issued for 47-year-old Raleigh woman

Raleigh police were searching early Friday for a 47-year-old woman who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police were searching early Friday for a 47-year-old woman who is believed to be cognitively impaired. 

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Paula Jean Smith at about 3 a.m. after she went missing from a home in the 1500 block of Crest Road. 

Smith is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has medium-length brown hair and brown eyes, police said. 

It wasn't clear where Smith may be headed, but when she disappeared she was wearing a long Army green coat, a dress, brown hat and shiny leather shoes.
