NASHVILLE, N.C. — Nasvhille police stopped their search Sunday afternoon for a missing 26-year-old man who went missing Saturday evening.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert for Quentin Richardson about 1:30 p.m.after he was found safe.

Richardson was reported missing Friday from a home in the 700 block of Bayberry Lane.

Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert system quickly notifies the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
