WakeMed police were searching Tuesday for an elderly man believed to have dementia or another cognitive impairment.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — WakeMed police suspended their search Tuesday night for an elderly man believed to have dementia or another cognitive impairment.

James E. Bass, 77, was last seen at the hospital at 3000 New Bern Ave. A Silver Alert for him was issued late Monday and canceled Tuesday night.

It wasn't clear whether Bass had been found or why the alert was canceled.
