Silver Alert

— The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert on Tuesday for a Raleigh woman.

The alert was issued on Jan. 17 for 57-year-old Susan Stuart Isaacs.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

Seriously, that's so weird. I was wondering the same thing until I saw this lady had only been missing for a little over a week. Also, I don't recall cancellations of alerts in the past unless it's to say they have been found. No info other than they've been canceled seems a little curious.
