— The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert on Wednesday for a missing Raleigh woman.

The alert was issued on Tuesday for 32-year-old Madonna "Mystery" Fulcher. She went missing from the Cheetham Family Care Home, 2726 Newsome St. in Raleigh.

    Dear creators of Silver Alerts: Very few people pay attention to these because they're issued for every functioning schizo or ADHD who doesn't want to go back to their group home. "Not having their meds" is not the same type of emergency as a wandering autistic or an Alzheimer's patient missing.

    Similarly, few pay attention to Amber alerts anymore, because they're issued for every child custody dispute where mom says "I think he carries a knife." This was not the intention of Amber and Silver alerts, and you know it.
