Silver Alert canceled for Orange County man

— The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons on Thursday canceled a Silver Alert for a missing Orange County man.

William Ray Edwards, 75, was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

There was no word on where Edwards was found. He had been seen last at 1131 Palmers Grove Church Road in Hillsborough.

    Awww, praying for him, and his loved ones and rescuers.

    This happened once to my dad who was suffering from Alzheimers. He didn't escape from us, but from a hospital that we had left him at for tests. They had given him drugs to put him to sleep, but he woke up earlier than they expected, got dressed and walked out.

    It was a very scary time for us, and the next time we had to leave him, we took his shoes with us. ;o)
