Silver Alert canceled for Forsyth County woman

Posted January 7, 2009

— The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has canceled a Silver Alert for Allison Diane Lambert of Walkertown in Forsyth County.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

    Iron Fist -

I don't care - if they canceled it then that is a supposition that I will accept. I just think it is stupid and a waste of time to fire off a Silver Alert because someone didn't say they were going fishing!

It is disgusting because there was a silver alert for a 17 year old! That is an abuse of the system!
