Siler City, N.C. — Chatham County deputies have charged a Siler City man with stabbing his brother during an argument Tuesday night.
Michael Castevens, 30, of 3505 Edwards Hill Church Road, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was being held Thursday in the Chatham County jail under a $50,000 bond.
Deputies found Millard Lynn Castevens on the front porch of his home in Bear Creek with several stab wounds to his chest. He told deputies that his brother had stabbed him, and his son said that the two brothers had been fighting.
Michael Castevens was arrested after deputies found him hiding under the deck of a house near his brother's home. He admitted arguing with his brother but denied stabbing him, authorities said.
Deputies seized Michael Castevens' blood-stained jacket as evidence, authorities said.
Millard Castevens was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he was listed in serious condition.
