RAEFORD, N.C. — A woman was held at gunpoint, tied up and buried under a pile of furniture earlier this month while robbers looted her Raeford home, stealing her truck and several phones, according to the Hoke County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, whose name was not released, was at her home, at 5746 Phillipi Church Road, when at least four people broke in on June 5. She told investigators the robbers were searching for and demanding specific items.

She freed herself from the pile of furniture after she heard them leave, investigators said, and discovered that she no longer had any telephones in the house. She used her computer to contact a friend in New York, who called 911 on her behalf to report the robbery.

Over the course of the investigation, sheriff's deputies zeroed in on a suspect, Jabesh Clarence Corvin Reid, 20, and executed a search warrant at his Fayetteville home on Monday. The items seized during that search have not been released, but Reid was arrested there that same day.

He faces first-degree kidnapping, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny, aiding and abetting larceny and possession of stolen goods charges.

Reid was taken to the Hoke County jail, where he was being held Tuesday under a $500,000 secured bond.

Later Monday, deputies arrested three additional suspects in and around the Fayetteville area.

Jamilla Idalia Mancillas, 18, Darian Dion Hogan, 19, and Jesse James Horton, 22, all face the same charges as Reid. Their bonds were set at $600,000 each.
