Shearon Harris to test siren
The Shearon Harris nuclear power plant will conduct a siren test on Tuesday.

NEW HILL, N.C. — Progress Energy's Shearon Harris nuclear power plant will conduct a siren test on Tuesday.
The siren will go off at full volume around 10 a.m. as part of a routine test, officials said. The sound might be heard as far away as Apex, they said.
