Shaw student faces theft, fraud charges

Raleigh, N.C. — A Shaw University student faces charges of financial transaction card theft and fraud, according to documents from the Raleigh Police Department.
Michael Fitzgerald Brown, 20, of Raleigh, is also accused in a vehicle break-in and subsequent theft of a camera on Friday.
The theft charge is considered a felony and the fraud charge is a misdemeanor because the goods, services and other items received during a six-month period totaled $500 or less.
No additional information was available.
Brown is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 30.
