In a video from social media, a hand points a gun out the open car window and pulls the trigger on pedestrians. In the background, laughter.

Cincinnati police are looking for two people who terrorized a neighborhood, driving  and firing what looked a real gun.

The video, which circulated on social media, shows two young men laughing as they point the weapon randomly. Police say they can't tell from the video whether the gun is real or fake, but the fear on the faces of people along the streets is real.

"It's just causing panic. And it's just totally unacceptable, totally unacceptable behavior," said Capt. Aaron Jones of the Cincinnati police.

Pastor Peter Mingo was among those who called police, warning that even a joke could turn deadly.

"It could have turned out extremely bad, it could have been tragic, and if a police officer would have been in the vicinity during his duty and seen it and seen someone rolling down, hearing the noise, thinking it's an actual gun, seeing the gun out the window, it would definitely have been a problem," Mingo said.

Police are hoping someone will recognize the men in the video to help track them down.
