I do believe the rats are now jumping off the Titanic, aka Good Ship Easley.

OTOH, Lanny Wilson might be getting ready to don some bright yellow canary feathers to relate a few facts and perhaps diminish his own potential prison time.

The Wilson connections - to Easley and Perdue! I agree, we are going to need a bigger jail to house all these crooks! Glad the Feds are prosecuting this - that way Perdue cannot just pardon them all. Get them, please! Clean up NC government!

  • time4real Jan 25, 6:15 p.m.

take note Bev, they're coming for you, GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER and we can't wait! THEN NC will have a chance to recover!

  • LL4U Jan 25, 6:13 p.m.

Something big(ger) must be coming down the pipe since our presiding Gov has gone on vacation to an unannounced destination. Is there a jail big enough to hold all these cronies??? Shameful!!!

  • Dave Green Jan 25, 5:23 p.m.

Wonder if the Easley's passports are current? I think someone's going to roll on them.

  • theartistformerlyknownasspeedy Jan 25, 5:14 p.m.

"We are going to have to build another jail sure as heck just to hold Easley and all his sidekicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Maybe Lanny has some coastal property he'd donate to build it in return for a reduced sentence. Seems like backroom deals are what he does best!

  • theartistformerlyknownasspeedy Jan 25, 5:11 p.m.

Lanny, Lanny, Lanny. The lid came down on the cookie jar. What would your mamma say?

  • BadDayforButch Jan 25, 5:08 p.m.

This guy was also a major fundraiser for Bev, where there is smoke there is ususally fire

  • WHEEL Jan 25, 5:07 p.m.

They can run but can they hide? N C State is still paying Oblinger and Nielsen. Rand just got appointed to a big State job. Basnight has been on shaky ground for years but hangs on. The Lottery Comission has never had an OUTSIDE audit. Looks like NC politics is renning about normal!

  • Suasponte Jan 25, 4:54 p.m.

Time to publicly look at Basnight's campaign finances. Did he go on any Costa Rica trips?

  • Here kitty kitty Jan 25, 4:37 p.m.

Mercy they are falling like dominoes!!!

  • TheAdmiral Jan 25, 4:28 p.m.

Absolutely amazing. The people who have shown poor ethics to sit on boards and be in direct conflict of interest with the state's businesses are resigning.

    They must be democrats.

Only democrats do unethical things and say that they did what was in the best interest of the state.

I did not realize that padding your pockets with taxpayer money for a high illegal thing was in the best interest of the state.

If I were the State Auditor - I would start looking at the legislature.

  • tatermommy52 Jan 25, 4:21 p.m.

If Bev was a Republican she would be under investigation.

  • DrJ Jan 25, 4:21 p.m.

The guy was chosen by Basnight, but now has to resign. That really is telling. Basnight is untouchable, and he knows it.

  • firehog400 Jan 25, 4:03 p.m.

We are going to have to build another jail sure as heck just to hold Easley and all his sidekicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mochabrown Jan 25, 3:57 p.m.

They are dropping like flies. I guess the ointment of exposure is too strong.
