Amomoftwo - Thank you for the info on the free parking lot. I wondered if it was working well. And you are so kind regarding the dress. :-)

My youngest drove to the free parking lot at Reedy Creek and Edwards Mill on Saturday and said it was so easy! Shuttle was right there, easy drop off at Gate 8 and there were less than 50 cars in the lot.

Also, JDOUGLAS13, she brought me a bag of cotton candy and it was delicious! So definitely a great fair treat!

Faye, that black and white dress was stunning on your special segment! You looked great in it!

Twinredheads - I have cups that I have kept from the past State Fair that has the straw and top on it. If you take that with you, alot of the vendors will fill up your cup for a $1.00. Some of the vendors have a sign up saying refill for $1.00.

BARBIEDOLL1967 -What kind of cup do you take? I was under the impression that you had to buy a drink there and then it was the $1 refills. I'm hoping I'm wrong because that's VERY frugal!

jdouglas13 - at some places it is made right there, as I recall. At most vendors it is pre-bagged and ready for purchase.

Is the cotton candy made fresh when you purchase it? If so, I might just make the trek this year.

barbiedoll1967 - great tip on bringing your own cup and way to get a great price on the ticket! I would totally try the deep fried oreos. :-) Thanks for sharing your tips and favs!

I love the State Fair. It makes me feel like a kid again. I save money by taking my own cup for the $1 fill up. I bought my tickets this year at the Got To Be NC Festival for $5 each. I may go on Wednesday this year to enjoy the Military events. My favorite food is the deep fried oreos and the NC State Howling Cow ice cream. But I'm tempted to try the key lime bites this year. Enjoy everyone!
