jdouglas13 - wow - great deal on the chicken and fruit! And how funny on the carrot cake. I'm sure it was be fabulous!

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes for my daughter! I passed them on to her. :-)

JDouglas, I actually got them at Lowes Foods. Since they are so thin, they were frugal :) If you get a pork loin on sale, you can hand slice into whatever size chops you want and freeze most. Usually those roasts are less than 2 pounds and they are boneless. And great job at HT !!!! They definitely have great customer service.

Yay for easy dinners and good Chinese takeout! The birthday girl has requested a carrot cake. Little does she know I have never made one in my life, and she will be my taste tester. ;) I'd better get busy! LOL

YBAverage, where did you find the extra thin pork cutlets? They are so versatile, and perfect for cooking just for myself. I thought about picking up a pork loin yesterday at HT, but the size of it for just me was borderline ridiculous, no matter how much of it gets divided and frozen.

Barbiedoll, your car sounds SO FUN! Enjoy!

So my HT adventure yesterday was also fun. I did not realize that the $1.59 boneless chicken breasts was only limited to certain stores, so when the package rang up for close to $20 and I asked customer service about it, they gave me a refund and I got to keep the chicken. Same thing happened for some fruit I bought -- there was no price tag, no item code, no listing of it anywhere and no one knew what it was, so I got it for free.

Eggs for dinner tonight! Scrambled for me and one kiddo, egg salad for the other all on toast with turkey bacon. We'll also have apple slices. Easy night!

Faye - Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl!

  • barbiedoll1967 Sep 14, 1:25 p.m.

Faye, please tell the Birthday Girl happy birthday from me. No Cook Thursday is great. I'll email you the picture.

Hmm, I think it is a Chinese kind of day . . . I have a $4 coupon to use on Eatstreet.com (and I believe it's specifically for Chinese take out orders), so I'm thinking some steamed pork dumplings, and a little something else to go with it.

barbiedoll1967 - e-mail it to me and I can post it if you want. I'd love to see it!

ybaverage2003 - your frugal dinner sounds great!

And it looks like the birthday girl picked Chinese food for her birthday dinner tonight so I'll take some home for everyone else, as well. It's no cook Thursday for me! lol :-)

Faye, yes I picked up the bug. It's a convertible. I'm in love with that car. I wish I could share pictures on the blog but not sure how to do that.

Last night I picked up a package of super thin boneless pork cutlets, which I pan fried (In PAM) and topped with hoisin. Made a side of onion, zucchini & squash stir fry. Think I have enough for left overs tonight :) The pork was less than $4, so 2 meals is pretty frugal .

I am not exactly sure about dinner tonight. I'm taking my oldest out for a quick birthday dinner between her college classes and may be bringing home take out for the rest of the crew. Or they may have leftovers including veggie pizza, sweet potatoes, pasta, salad. I guess it will be a surprise. lol

barbiedoll1967 - Did you get the car??

  • barbiedoll1967 Sep 14, 8:45 a.m.

Tonight will be breakfast for supper.
