Poo! Wish I saw the update before I drove all the way to the store! No milk for me. Guess I'll ahve to go to Kroger instead. Well, I did get a tennis elbow strap in the clearance bin so it was not a wasted trip. :)
Garfyismylove Sep 13, 9:02 p.m.
but that's what I said at my original post-yellow stickers plus I had a coupon..
jeanne6 Sep 13, 8:09 p.m.
so disappointed about the chkn deal too,as well as some of their other deals w/ Q's...I have to drive from the hwy64/I540 area to go to the Ht at falls/durant. not only did I not get the chkn deal, they don't carry the fruit tubes that would've been free w/ Q's & didn't carry the pumpkin go-go squeeze that were supposed to be 1.49. and I didn't notice til I got home, but the 2 digitals I clipped (yoplait&pillsbury) didnt get taken off! waste of gas! at least I got the good prices on the campbells soup for my son's lunch & the free Yes to soups. Oh well!
ThomasG Sep 13, 7:05 p.m.
So it was $1 off STICKERS NOT $1 COUPONS on the 4 loaves of naan bread .
Garfyismylove Sep 13, 7:00 p.m.
Forgot to mention-yesterday, two of my items rang the wrong price but they didn't offered it for free.. I didn't ask and they didn't offered..
Garfyismylove Sep 13, 6:58 p.m.
thats exactly what I did. Froze three, left one for pizza. I know how to make from scratch good pizza dough but sometimes for convenience, naan will do :)
Garfyismylove Sep 13, 6:54 p.m.
they were mark down each-$1 off with the yellow sticker-I only had 1 coupon. So, 4x markdown sticker plus only 1 coupon.
sandyandevie Sep 13, 4:13 p.m.
i think they should honor it since they made the big mistake. people drove to the stores and were expecting the sale. waste of time and gas.
Dr D Sep 13, 3:57 p.m.
THOMASG, I suspect the 3 "like" coupons policy does not apply to the yellow mark-down sticker coupons because those are often placed on perishable clearance items which are nearing their expiration date. And yes, you can stack those yellow sticker coupons with manufacturer coupons. :-)
That naan bread is yummy ... good for you GARFYISMYLOVE to find such a nice deal! B1G1 sale *and* markdown stickers *and* a manufacturer coupon = a trifecta in couponing. ;-)
ThomasG Sep 13, 3:39 p.m.
GARFYISMYLOVE - HT let you use 5 coupons on the 4 naan breads that were b2g1 ??
I thought the coupon policy was 3 "like" coupons per transaction .

Dr D - I agree. I think they should have honored it for those stores. The HT I was near today in Cary after my dad's PT appointment did honor the chicken deal because it was in the online flyer for their store and we looked it up together. I had not heard back from corporate yet so I did not know it was not valid there and neither did the store. I just feel badly that people may have made a special trip this morning for the chicken and could not get the deal.
I suggested that they offer a 1 day sale for the Triangle stores to make up for the confusion, but I would be very surprised it they do. Clearly they are targeting the areas with new Lidl stores who are selling milk and eggs at ridiculously low prices.
Frugal20 - I am glad they honored it for you!
Garfyismylove - great job on the Naan sales! And you can freeze them. I have not tried the Tai Pei so no idea how they taste.
Dr D Sep 13, 3:12 p.m.
Oh. Maybe HT's which showed these specials in their ads won't honor the prices even in those stores. Boo. Seems like they really should though. For me, it was a stop on the way to work, and I did buy other items. For others, a trip to the nearest HT is a longer journey and a bigger deal.
Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Sep 13, 3:07 p.m.
Update: The 1-day sale is only good in Greenville and Wilson stores. VERY disappointing. See all the details here:
Dr D Sep 13, 3:05 p.m.
FRUGAL20 - good for you! That's the HT I shopped before work this morning. Both the cashier and the CS were very nice, but neither offered to change the price, likely because I had nothing in writing to show the price was $1.59/lb, and they didn't know anything about it. But perhaps I, and maybe others after me, paved the way just by inquiring, inspiring them to offer to honor the price for you.
Like you, I was interested in only the chicken and the eggs.
DAWNL39 - if your ad shows the sales, bring a copy of it with you to the store. I'd be really surprised if they didn't honor it.
dawnl39 Sep 13, 2:49 p.m.
The ad for my Stonebridge store also shows the 1 day sales but from what I hear it's not good there either :(
Frugal20 Sep 13, 2:25 p.m.
Durham store on MLK. No signs and not in store flyer.
I asked CS before I shopped and the cashier changed the price at the register to 1.59/lb.
Only other one-day item of interest is the eggs...but may not bother if it's a hassle...
Garfyismylove Sep 13, 2:22 p.m.
I love Harris Teeter! Got today, 3 Philadelphia cheesecake cups, 4 packages of large Naan bread, 3 Yes soups and 1 oikos for little over $4..Naan was b1g1 @ 2.99, each of them had a yellow sticker for a $1 off plus I had $1 off coupon, making 4 packages of large Naan bread only .99 total.. my store has no Tai Pei.. is it tasty?
Dr D Sep 13, 12:39 p.m.
Thanks Beths and Faye. They are nice deals for those stores that are offering these specials. :-)
Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Sep 13, 12:18 p.m.
Thanks for the info, Dr D and Besths. My online ad for the Tryon store (that does show the 1-day sales) made no mention that I could see that the deals were only for certain stores. It's VERY unfortunate that all the HT stores in the area are not honoring these prices. I will update the post when I have more information from corporate.
beths Sep 13, 11:30 a.m.
Dr. D- I asked the meat dept. and they said that deal was only good at 4 stores (and HT on Capital Blvd. in Wake Forest was not one of them).
Dr D Sep 13, 11:23 a.m.
I did not find the family packs of HT boneless chicken breast to be on sale at my store in Durham for $1.59/lb this morning. They rang up at $2.97/lb, and the store's paper ad had no mention of daily specials that I could find. Maybe these offers are limited to selected stores? Perhaps some store(s) with new competitors nearby?
Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Sep 13, 7:55 a.m.
Harris Teeter shoppers: Check the bottom of your receipts to see if you get a customer service survey offer for a chance to win $500 AND let Harris Teeter know how you feel about your shopping experience with them.
