So funny how almost all you people on here complaining are upset that WRAL is pointing out the statues but you're not trying to contradict the history. Hmmm....
Scott Patterson Aug 28, 11:16 a.m.
Wral does not load ads... thats your browser history, so its obvious you looked at ammo within the last 48 hours online... #InternetThings
Joe Eastland Aug 27, 10:39 p.m.
It would kill WRAL to know right now I have ammo ads showing on their website. LOL.
Mohammad Ackmhed Aug 27, 5:49 p.m.
As usual wral is stiring the pot to incite violence for their own gain. I mean these statues are right in their back yard. What better way to report a story, than to create it. If these statues are vandalized wral should be charged with conspiracy to commit. Wral is a sick and twisted organization and this so called "news report" proves it.
Deborah Turner Aug 27, 4:50 p.m.
WRAL has a far left agenda. This article is being disguised as news...but what they seek in their evil hearts is division among Raleigh and North Carolina citizens about history. They know NC was a very poor state in 1861 and that 92 % of the white population of NC at that time did not own slaves.... or much else.
Tim Orr Aug 27, 4:07 p.m.
Why would a carpetbagger care? They were here for the money just like modern day politicians. I hope you were being sarcastic.
Charlie Watkins Aug 27, 6:41 a.m.
I would have thought that the carpetbaggers would have prevented the statues being built.

It reflects the true feelings of the writer.

I guess WRAL wants to be 1st with the breaking news when the protest and destruction starts. Shame on you! You people are not respectable reporters anymore, you are just another group with an agenda! I'm done with you!!!
Mary Meadows Aug 26, 6:04 p.m.
Wow. I agree to ALL of the comments posted before me. That doesn't happen too often
Sad Fam Aug 26, 5:01 p.m.
Time to post personal info and locations of ALL employees of WRAL for this one, unless they remove it and issue an apology, period. This is disgusting!
Nick Edwards Aug 26, 4:52 p.m.
I wonder how the WRAL employees / "journalists" would feel if someone were to post a tour of their home addresses, children's schools and businesses they frequent. Wouldn't that be pretty similiar to what they've done to the citizens of Raleigh with this article?
Lisa Lisa Aug 26, 3:38 p.m.
They knew they were doing when they created this article. They DO NOT care! It's like instigation is their new high. The only reason I even read their mess is to expose it. Insensitive garbage.
Nick Edwards Aug 26, 3:22 p.m.
Completely agree. I don't care either way about the partisan politics of either party or these stupid statues. This article certainly seems like an incitement or invitation for protest / violence to downtown Raleigh. It's quite disgusting.
Roger Connor Aug 26, 2:18 p.m.
WRAL has now entered the "we don't report news, we create it" stage of Socialism. And at this point, I'm done with you.
Berry Goldstein Aug 26, 1:04 p.m.
THIS. It will be WRALs responsibility and if WRAL isn't held accountable... well they better hope its in their best interests to own up to their mistakes... I'll leave it at that.

Why in the World would you 2 even consider publishing this bad story..There is enough violence, destruction of property and killings happening in Raleigh and surrounding area..As of today WRAL is on my do not watch list..
William Sherman Aug 26, 12:49 p.m.
Well its obvious that WRAL learned its lessons well from Obama. He used to announce publically where and when our military was going to attack ISIS, Al Quaida (sp) and their allies. By publishing this article WRAL has painted a bullseye on those monuments, but the down town areas of Raleigh where they are located. Any damages resulting from rioting will be the financial responsibility of WRAL.
Berry Goldstein Aug 26, 12:36 p.m.
I don't care about the statues. I don't care about left-wing, right-wing, democrat, or republican because at the end of the day they are all useful pawns for the (((elite))), but that's my opinion. What i do care about is how the news reports on matters like this. Firstly, I don't consider anyone in ANY news outlet as real journalists (that includes you WRAL), but again that is my opinion. I know that you are pushing an agenda (and this agenda in itself is to create violence and divide in the US which is why we shouldn't take sides as alt-left or alt-right because this is exactly what the (((elites))) want), however if this continues and if there is needless violence in my downtown streets all because of (((WRAL))) following orders, well then (((WRAL))) all I can say is that the fight will eventually come to you because people are waking up and seeing the real (((media))) for what it truly is.
Marshall Autry Aug 26, 11:43 a.m.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH CHANNEL FIVE? IS THERE NOT ENOUGH VIOLENCE THAT YOU HAVE TO DRAW OUT A ROAD MAP FOR PEOPLE WHOSE IT WOULD BE TO THEIR INTENT TO DEFACE OR DESTROY THESE MONUMENTS. THERE IS ENOUGH BAD NEWS WITHOUT THE MEDIA TRYING TO CREATE MORE.
Clayton Dent Aug 26, 11:25 a.m.
ThiS will become the 'hit list' of monuments.
Tim Orr Aug 26, 10:59 a.m.
Gee, thanks for bringing all the monuments around here to the attention of the folks out to destroy them. Thank you making Raleigh a target and for making the downtown area around the Capitol unsafe. I just love the non-biased way WRAL reports the news (I wish).
