I am against offshore exploration and/or drilling. I don't live on the coast, but we visit it often. We don't need to do it. Leave our beaches beautiful and unspoiled. Tourist trade and the fishing industry provide plenty of jobs and the jobs provided by the drilling wouldn't make a big difference.

We have the technology to start weaning ourselves off of destructive fossil fuels. You have to question the motives of a government that undermines clean energy in favor of dirty options. The fossil fuel lobby has clearly bought off most of the government. Dirty energy, dirty corrupt government.

Any jobs created will disappear when the oil runs out. The jobs are just temporary. And it will ruin the tourist industry when the oil spills start coming.
