    Enabling WHO?
The three year old who was shot while staying at his grandmothers house? (You assume because they don't live in a house like yours, they're on handouts)
Or the people who fired the gun? (and have not been caught so we don't know anything about them)

Wrong, almost all are purchased from private sellers who do not care who they sell to.

Do you have proof of this outlandish statement?

And even if true that most were stolen, a half decent gun safe would foil all but the most enterprising thieves.

Again, I would like to know how you know so much about thieves.

It is so in every other western country not cursed with a border with the US, quite why you imagine it would be different here is hard to see.

If the US is such a curse then why did you move here? AND, why do you remain here?

Also, since you love to flaunt your first amendment rights, why do you begrudge others their second?

Grand Union...Since I can tell you have it all figured out and the answers to these problems are so simple why don't you run for office?

I've always wondered what it was like to have the perfect answer to everything and do a simple google search and believe every link that shows up first.

And even if true that most were stolen, a half decent gun safe would foil all but the most enterprising thieves. Without the constant flow of private gun purchases the flow to criminals would quickly sink to a trickle.

Reports elsewhere say he was shot mid-stomach and is in very critical condition.
This is his grandmother's home. He was just spending the night there and usually lives with his mom and dad elsewhere.
Prayers going up for his complete recovery; poor little guy, and for the authorities to catch the crass cowardly individual who would shoot into a home where innocents, especially children, might be.

General opinion? Really? You should put the pipe down. Crimes committed by firearm are almost always committed by a convicted felon or by a person not in legal ownership of the firearm. Convicted Felons are not allowed to possess a firearm but under the most rare of circumstances. Thus they obtain them illegally. Most firearms that are involved in crimes are stolen. Lying on a firearm form to buy a gun is in fact illegal, thus making that transaction illegal. In NC, you cannot sell a handgun without a pistol permit from the buyer, even at a gun show. Almost ALL crimes committed w firearm are infact handguns. So, if a handgun is purchased legally, it is done so by a law abiding, background checked, citizen. Private sales that are not done by following the laws are in fact, illegal. I realize it's like talking to a brick wall but wow, sometimes people have too much MSNBC in their lives.

I never said it did. Those posts that are censored do not violate any so called rules, just do not follow their anti gun, anti police, anti government bias. I was making the point that those who share WRAL's anti gun bias can post basically whatever they want and those that post pro or neutral gun posts get censored at a higher rate. The news media hides behind what they deny others. Just like their standing behind THEIR first amendment right while pushing an agenda that would deny OTHERS their second amendment rights.

Still, if they would judge judge and post the comments here based on those PUBLISHED Terms of Service alone, and not based on the particular likes/dislikes/personal beliefs of the moderator approving the comments at the time, then so many of us wouldn't feel biased and discriminated upon like we do.

Heck, I betcha they won't even post this comment. I'll be shocked if they do since it includes not only criticism of them, but TRUTHFUL criticism as well.

You made good points, every single one of them.
    Thank you.

There are too many who blame those on government assistance for not working when many of them DO work at minimum wage/low paying jobs that pay so little they can easily qualify for government aid.

Yet those same complainers seem to think nothing at shopping at the low paying businesses those people work for, which makes THEM part of the problem, and NOT PART of any solution to it.

Sure, you might save a dime to a dollar patronizing those businesses, but then if your tax dollars are subsidizing their employee's pay - how much then has their merchandise you thought you were saving on, REALLY costing you?

Quit patronizing low pay/minimum wage businesses!!! Either that, or quit hypocritically complaining about their employees who qualify and receive government benefits because their pay is so low at that business.

    smh

Where does personal responsibility come into getting cancer or a host of other diseases or getting shot by a gun nut or hit by an unisured drunk driver?

"This is why so many on welfare. housing assistance and food stamps remain on them for so long..."

And you dont think have many many jobs paying less than a living wage may be also playing a part.....

" actual self reliance is too much to be troubled with. It's much easier to be a Ward Of The State."

True to a point but surely you understand that in a time when there are more unemployed than there are jobs then its either that or starve.
There are also many that lets face it are virtually unemployable.....and while letting them stave to death would have a certain Old Testiment quality but its surely a little Dickensian for the 21st century?

I would bet you anything there are plenty of "LEGAL" gun owners and sellers alike who do sale to criminals. You know why, because more back ground checks and background checks at private sales was blocked by the right and NRA during the past 3 years or so. The gun right group opposed more back ground checks even at private sales because they are under this fear mentality that the Gubment is coming to take their guns away. Now with that said I am a staunchy gun right supporter and will stand in the way of anyone who infringes on my right to have a gun or carry one, but there are simple solutions that the far right and NRA do not want to pass because it will affect sales.
