If i had to be in court i don't think i would be tweeting about it.

  • Glock07 Nov 22, 2013

The Courthouse is about 1.5 minutes from the Campus.....

  • Obamacare for one and all Nov 22, 2013

So what if he was in court all day? Still gives him time to head over to campus while court is in recess and fire off a few shots.

  • Bill of Rights Nov 22, 2013

So. Was he in court, or wasn't he? Seems like a pretty easy thing to check up on.

  • Lamborghini Mercy Nov 22, 2013

Ingram’s Twitter account after the news conference said he was not on campus because he was in court all day.

And he also mentions on twitter he has a lawyer, yet, he's not complying with the law right now to turn himself in... If that was me and I was innocent, I would've turned myself in the second I heard about it instead of allowing the situation to grow out of control.

"crime respects no boundaries. thank goodness HB 937 was passed. Thanks NCGA."

LOL right! If lawmakers really believed conceal carry increased the safety of people in public areas then why don't they allow it in their own (public) work place? If it's safe for children on the playground it should be safe for them. But nooooooo, it's too dangerous for them!

  • Pretzel Logic Nov 22, 2013

When there is a school shooter they will label them as an active shooter until they know more"

Just shows you that facts do not matter, just getting a story out is the priority. My response was to the comment was aimed at the definition remark.

  • Justic4All Nov 21, 2013

rushbot - stop reporting and it'll stop? You just go back to pre-internet days when it happened on a daily basis, you just didn't hear about it.

It's like saying crime is down. What has changed? Police don't go in high crime neighborhoods any more. No wonder crime is down, arrests are down because they don't try to arrest anyone

  • 5Rs Nov 21, 2013

".your posting simultaneously reduces support for both the 1st and 2nd amendments." - bot

Not really. The media is irresponsible in much of its coverage. For instance, look at the fawning that has never ceased over 0bama and 0bamacare or any other left-wing cause. But the first amendment prevails and irresponsibility lives.

  • friendlyman Nov 21, 2013

Totally agreed, but we shouldn't stop until our right to defend ourselves is respected regardless of where we are, the criminals certainly don't care if they are on 'educational property'

Shootings are not on the rise, statistically. And there's definitely no evidence that increased reporting of shootings increases the frequency of shootings. Your suggestion is basically advising us all to close our eyes and ears, because if we don't see or hear about shootings, then surely that means they must have stopped. Ignorance is bliss but I for one enjoy living in reality, the good and the bad.

"This doesn't seem to fall under the law enforcement definition because he targeted a individual not random victims."

At the time they didn't know he was targeting one person. When there is a school shooter they will label them as an active shooter until they know more. Neither here nor there really, issue is the dude is still running.

"Could you possibly not know what the definition is?"

Actually DHS defines a active shooter as "an individual actively engaged in killing people in a confined and populated area"

This doesn't seem to fall under the law enforcement definition because he targeted a individual not random victims.

It just goes to show you how criminals love "gun-free" zones. There isn't much to fear when you know law abiding citizens can't be armed. Our students are like fish in a barrel at the mercy of criminals and the mentally deranged.

  • lets_b_real79 Nov 21, 2013

"active shooter"...really?...they do not even know what that is...certainly not fitting in this scenario...typical media misuse of terminology due to ignorance and hyping for shock value...active shooter...laughable..."

He was active at the time the news broke because shots were fired at someone on campus. Could you possibly not know what the definition is?

  • LKG-Lover Nov 21, 2013

It sounds like there was a specific target. Some have posted this is happening due to the media coverage and the FAME someone may be seeking. But I believe there are other factors like the increase in violent (shooting and killing) video games, economic stress, single parent households, lower standards for morals and the lack of tollorance for other peoples opinions. These are all trends that have been going on for awhile, so I don't see it getting any better soon.

What is going on in our world today? It seems like every week there is a shooting at a campus somewhere....csw

Due to the glorification of the antics of criminals in the media, more and more people are learning that if they want their name in the news, they need to perform some crazy act. There are many more acts, other than killing. The more school shootings that are broadcast for weeks on end, completely dissecting the "shooter's" psychiatric profile, talk with his/her family and friends, and basically guarantee someone at least some fame, the more they are going to happen. It's no different than the right pair of shoes for Kimberly, on the first day of school, so people will notice her. It is sick but it is there. Of course, this is not what the government wants you to know. In the dark people....stay in the dark please.
