Like most I find it very hard for her to have "supporters".

Did Ms. Magnum not have the right to protect and defend herself? Why is it so hard to believe her? 678devilish

On another story, you posted that John Edwards would make a good governor. It is a bit of a disconnect for you to support of the biggest womanizers this state has ever produced while at the same time defending this woman as if she was acting in self-defense against a man. May neither of you assertions come true.

"Mangum's supporters have long contended that Daye died as a result of poor care at Duke and not because of the stabbing."

That's almost like saying that it's not her fault that he bled either.

  • scubagirl2 Nov 19, 6:31 p.m.

Not that I would EVER believe her but even if I were to be so inclined, I would most definitely believe the words of a dying man over her.......

You don't stay up to date on current events, do you? This woman has NO credibility at all.

678 - "Why is it so hard to believe her?"

Because she lied in the past, nearly ruining the life of three guys and totally ruining the career of the DA who believed her.

That's why it's so hard to believe this woman.

    kikinc -

"Because another ex testified that she also threatened him with a knife."

In light of what the deceased himself told detectives, that's rather irrelevant at this point.

"She seems to have some anger issues."

I believe she does indeed, and I feel sorry for her children being raised by her or anywhere near her.

  • DontVote4LiarsCheatsOrThieves Nov 19, 4:55 p.m.

678 - "That is why I believe she was only defending herself."

In THIS case, perhaps. But in the case of at least one other boyfriend who testified she threatened him with a knife too, maybe not.

Still, the deceased himself said she locked herself in the bathroom. At that point, he should have walked out the door.

Still, once she locked herself in the bathroom, why didn't he just leave then???

Good point. That is why I believe she was only defending herself. She did have that right.

  • 678devilish Nov 19, 2:59 p.m.

I sincerely believe she was trying to defend herself. Don't know how the jury will perceive all of this. But everyone deserves a 2nds chance. And Ms. Mangum should choose her men friends very wisely. Still praying for her. She has been in so much trouble lately it seems like.

dontvote, yes but how was he going to PAY HIS RENT without the money orders?

  • DontVote4LiarsCheatsOrThieves Nov 19, 2:31 p.m.

JustOne - "I wonder if the “stand your ground” defenders will come to her defense."

That she left his side to go search for a knife when she could have walked out of the apartment instead probably throws a wrench into that scheme.

Still, once she locked herself in the bathroom, why didn't he just leave then???

He said to get the Money Orders, but those were made out to the apartment complex, not her, so she couldn't legally cash them anyway.

"Daye likely contracted an infection in the hospital, Nichols said."

The hospital doesn't know what killed him?

    Hmmm...

  • ycbs Nov 19, 2:21 p.m.

How much stuff does one person have to be involved in before people realize what/who the common denominator is? This chick is clearly a menace to society and needs to be locked up. I don't care whether it's the jail or the mental hospital, just LOCKED UP.

  • JustOneGodLessThanU Nov 19, 2:08 p.m.

I wonder if the “stand your ground” defenders will come to her defense.

If someone scared you so much that you locked yourself in the bathroom, but then he kicked in the door and dragged you out by your hair...would you defend yourself?...or just sit there and take it?...hoping he didn't maim or kill you?

  • JustOneGodLessThanU Nov 19, 2:02 p.m.

"he acknowledged that he kicked open a bathroom door when she locked herself inside and pulled her out by her hair"

What if she grabbed a knife while he was dragging and beating her...and THEN he went for the door?

By his own admission, this leaves a lot of Reasonable Doubt and screams Self Defense.

  • tarheelfan41 Nov 19, 1:58 p.m.

She'll be out of jail quicker than the kid taking the bb gun to school or the kid caught with pot brownies.

  • A person Nov 19, 1:24 p.m.

A death bed interview with the victim says she killed him. that is all the evidence that is needed as a death bed interview is considered an almost undefendable accusation

  • BlahBlahBlahBlahBlah Nov 19, 12:41 p.m.

Go to Jail Miss Mangum and stay there

  • Obamacare for one and all Nov 19, 12:21 p.m.

Put her away for life....preferably in another country so we never have to see or hear from her again.
