I am glad everything can get back to normal. Would not want anybody to have to get out and get a job and take care of themselves.

We need to raise the debt to $1,000 trillion.

The only state that refused.... think about that for a minute and
    let it sink in....

Our governor and the N.C. General Assembly stating that the citizens of our state doesn't trust the federal government to
pay our state.. The government of the USA who's history of
paying its bills on time is impeccable.

How many military living in N.C. receive money from the US Government every month? How many seniors receive Social Security checks every month from the US Government. How many disabled and pensions are received from the US Government every month? These are just a few of the thousands of payments every month from the US Government that people in the state of North Carolina receive every month...

Mr Governor you don't speak for me and others in this state that do trust our U.S. Government to do whats right and pay our bills on time and pay what it promises period.

You sir are an embarrassment to each and every citizen of this state. You owe all of us an apology for misrepresentati

    "Wealth transfer resumes in NC."

Think of it as a perk. After all, lots of these people are stuck in minimum wage jobs provided by the Job Creators (all hallowed be thy $) who get corporate tax breaks here.

  • redwolfone Oct 17, 6:21 p.m.

"WE (the state of NC) can't afford to give any tax breaks we need all the money we can get."

Cut the size of the government. If 800K of those in the federal givemement were not essential, then why do we need them?

  • rroadrunner99 Oct 17, 5:46 p.m.

Maybe North Carolina legislators and the GUV should rethink those tax breaks he was so eager to hand out since they act like North Carolina is so broke. WE (the state of NC) can't afford to give any tax breaks we need all the money we can get.

  • jackflash123 Oct 17, 5:32 p.m.

I hope we can continue the discussion -- not here, of course, as there's no hope of anything reasonable here -- of how to better serve the disadvantaged than having the federal govt take control of it, and how to empower people such that this type of assistance is truly temporary, but it is unquestionably the only appropriate moral course at this time to resume these services.

The "Waste Money" spigot has been spun open again.

  • bill15 Oct 17, 4:47 p.m.

As long as that whole fiasco prevented at least one poor child from getting an asthma inhaler, the $25-Billion in cost to the US taxpayer was completely worth it to the extremists in the GOP.

  • seeingthru Oct 17, 4:42 p.m.

    WOOOO!

    God Bless you, President Obama!

You made 'em back down just like Rev. Barber and the Moral Monday protesters did to McCrory.

  • sunshine1040 Oct 17, 4:19 p.m.

NC chose not to believe the federal government that they would be paid back because we all know our president or the folks in congress would never lie to us. We know the federal government gets its money from tax payers If the taxpayers are not working nor drawing unemployment then they are going to pay less in taxes now where is the money going to come from to pay the state back from?

  • WralCensorsAreBias Oct 17, 4:04 p.m.

What a joke. The sky almost fell. Since the last time it almost fell. Until January when it almost falls again.
