    "Climate is not weather." -seankelly15

You are talking WAY over most people's heads. Climate to most people is this morning's rain shower. We're all of a sudden in a moonsoon zone.

  • BH38 Sep 20, 3:22 p.m.

Great, forecast after its already started raining today . I believe i could pull that off ...

  • seankelly15 Sep 20, 3:01 p.m.

sweetsea2 - "He can predict weather 100 years from now. "

Climate is not weather. Gore talked about climate change not the weather. You can continue to use this silly argument but it just makes you look foolish. I would not be proud of your inability to understand the issues of climate and climate change.

Didn't see this rain on yesterdays forecast?Him forgot our trusty weather people and the great Doppler radar that can't see this coming within a 6 hour window.Money well spent, not.

  • SirWired Sep 20, 1:23 p.m.

I am amazed by the ability of WRAL posters to consistently work a jab at the political group of choice into a comment on something as innocuous as a daily weather report.

  • censorbait Sep 20, 1:06 p.m.

We need Al Gore doing our forecasts. He is really good! He can predict weather 100 years from now. A wonderment he is! And invented the Internet in his spare time. Amazing!!!

  • UpChuck Sep 20, 12:36 p.m.

Oh dear, my life is ending because it is raining; whatever will I do with my weekend plans?!?! Sho' got some whiney hineys on here.

  • PACK_SKINS_CANES Sep 20, 12:25 p.m.

alexncsu-one shift of the wind and the weather can change anyone with 1/2 a brain would know that.
Your comments about Greg Fishel were totally inappropriate.
Sure hope you are 100% at your job, if you have one.

  • PracticalMagick Sep 20, 11:55 a.m.

Since when is weather forecasting an exact science?

  • alexncsu Sep 20, 11:32 a.m.

rescuefan: no one's arguing the benefits of rain. We're talking about the accuracy of weather forecasting within less than 24 hours.

  • Jimm57 Sep 20, 11:22 a.m.

Im with johnnybgood. We are also planning on riding our motorcycles to the Bike fest in Raleigh. Hoping to at least attend tonight. Will keep an eye on the radar for sure!

  • rescuefan Sep 20, 11:20 a.m.

    Well said Ambygirl!

Life doesn't end because of a little rain. Matter of fact, my garden is enjoying it.

  • brandt Sep 20, 11:13 a.m.

Last I checked, meteorologists aren't omniscient. Think about all of the times that they get it right -- and it's a matter of interpreting a dense, constant data stream with more variables than you can imagine.

Things change that the models or even human experience can't predict -- don't make Fishel & co. the scapegoats because this weekend will be less than perfect.

I think that the WRAL weather team does great work. Nobody expects perfection and I believe that they always do their best.

  • Ambygirl Sep 20, 11:13 a.m.

alexncsu- that was really ugly to say about Gregg. He's one of the nicest people in the world you would ever want to meet. Shows just how shallow you are. Looks aren't everything or you wouldn't be sitting behind a computer screen making fun of people. You'd be walking the red carpet showing off your style and beauty.

  • johnnybgood Sep 20, 10:45 a.m.

Making plans to ride the motorcycle downtown to Ray Prices' Bikefest...uh oh.

  • Ambygirl Sep 20, 10:23 a.m.

ezlikeSundayMorning-- good call. These folks are not weather gods. And every station has the same forecast. None of them 'predicted' it was going to rain today through the weekend. It's 1000 times better than it's ever been and frankly, I appreciate all they do. GO WRAL WEATHER TEAM!!

  • WralCensorsAreBias Sep 20, 10:12 a.m.

Same here. Pretty sure I watched them all week and not once did they mention rain for Friday, much less an all day rain. Until today.

I think it's past time wral hire some real forecasters.

  • ezLikeSundayMorning Sep 20, 9:41 a.m.

All my outdoor plans have been made for months. Oh well, time to see what gets canceled and what just gets wet.

  • Mo Blues Sep 20, 8:37 a.m.

I made outdoor plans for the weekend as well based on Thursday night's forecast. Couldn't believe waking up to rain.

These guys are as accurate as a two dollar watch. Local weather witch doctors aren't even close to correct with less than 24 hours. I'm now using my own Weather Rock for better planning. Look up weather rock on the 'net, and get your own.

  • rt71383mag Sep 20, 8:29 a.m.

Yep. I made outdoor plans based on Thursday evening's forecast for Friday and woke up to rain this morning.

  • orangemoonlite Sep 20, 8:22 a.m.

Thanks for the "all day" message BEFORE it actually started raining...geez! Using your services less & less these days...
