I hope the jury and judge will wipe that snarky smile off his face.

Anyone else think that Amanda Perry Hayes looks similar to Elizabeth Mitchell's character from Lost, Juliet? They have the same eyes/eyebrows. Here's a pic:

I know a person is innocent until proven guilty, - comment

That's not written in law, but commonly presumed in theory. IF the two were really considered innocent, they would not be in jail. They have been suspects who were investigated, accused, arrested, charged and about to be tried for murder. They will not be found innocent, but either guilty or not guilty, depending on the evidence and jury.

My main concerns lie with the children. Three of them.- COMMENT

Yes, I don't want them living with murderers. Seems one of them killed someone he once loved.

"In 10 years of knowing Grant, I never heard him raise his voice, never heard him yell, never heard him upset." = story quote

Did he ever drive across several states with a chopped up body in a cooler? He may have quietly killed her and cut her up. They murdered the woman, it seems.

screeners, what was wrong with my comment about women not being stronger than men. You are so liberal.

Git-a-Rope: Have you seen pics of Laura? She was just a little slip of a woman, very petite...unlikely she could have overpowered Grant...

  • tigresspen Aug 26, 3:10 p.m.

They both are responsible for Laura's death IMO. We shall see what the evidence tells us. However, they both made the trip to Texas to Amanda's sisters home with her dismembered body..

I know a person is innocent until proven guilty, but what has been reported on this case makes me think the jury will not be out for long.

@obama, I'm all for a good joke but wow. I guess if we always have you we'll always be one joke short of running out

Obamacare saves lives - "It's entirely possible that his wife did it since Grant is only 5'2" and would have easily been overpowered by Laura Ackerson."

Female muscle mass is different from male muscle mass. Therefore, you can't always determine who would win in a fight between the two genders.

If that weren't true, every big woman could take every small man, and they can't always do so.

I feel so sorry for the children.

And I would be willing to bet this man will try to pin this on his NEW wife because he has no integrity at all.

Are you live streaming the jury selection and/or the trial?

It's entirely possible that his wife did it since Grant is only 5'2" and would have easily been overpowered by Laura Ackerson.

  • sjb2k1 Aug 26, 9:13 a.m.

so the defense for these two will be "he made me do it"and "she made me do it"

lock 'em both up, life w/o parole. the end.

  • Jimmytwotimes Aug 26, 9:11 a.m.

can't imagine what his "not guilty" defense is gonna be. I think he's gonna say it was his wife/girlfriend who did it and he just helped her cover up or something. It'll be unbelievable it he tries to say he doesn't know how she died and ended up dismembered in his sister in laws creek in Texas.

  • Bartmeister Aug 26, 8:54 a.m.

Grant Hayes' trial is expected to last several weeks.

Anyone remember the days when a trial went into the second day it was a long one?
