jUST A FEW minutes ago I saw what appeared to be a Tornado off from a distance. I was in Fuquay and it looked to be back toward Willow Springs.. I saw no warning of it on my Phone. Does anyone know if a Tornado hit down. It was wide at top and spiraled down toward the ground..

The science men of the middle ages would offer to make it rain for money as well.

  • Antivenin Aug 13, 5:09 p.m.

Good Lord. What's gonna be is what's gonna be. I for one am enjoying this summer after enjoying a nice spring.

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again03 Aug 13, 4:44 p.m.

Oh, the climate is changing alright. It has changed on its own from the beginning of time and will continue to do so.

  • Liebe ist fur alle Aug 13, 4:17 p.m.

" Once they realized global warming was a hoax"

    Which it isn't.

"they changed over to something else. Now it is called "climate change"

No, it's always been called that.

"So when the weather is not 100% identical to what we saw last year, well the climate she's a changin'!"

No, no, no...this would be y'alls excuse.

  • Liebe ist fur alle Aug 13, 4:16 p.m.

"Per NOAA's dataset, over the last 17 years for the 12-mth periods ending June, the continental U.S. has been cooling, robustly. This took place while CO2 levels were well above the "safe" 350ppm mark."

Do some research into the "Great Conveyor" and the effect it's weakening will have on the climate at middle North latitudes while still seeing a generalized warming of the planet as a whole. This is why it's called Global Climatic Change...not Global Warming. Calling it "warming" makes the gullible and naive think a couple of cool days means it isn't happening.

  • Liebe ist fur alle Aug 13, 4:11 p.m.

"Corollary to that: When there is no real crisis, make one up."

Or, in the case of the anti-GCC crowd, when the facts are against you make up your own and lie about the opposition.

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again03 Aug 13, 4:01 p.m.

mep, don't you know? Once they realized global warming was a hoax, they changed over to something else. Now it is called "climate change". So when the weather is not 100% identical to what we saw last year, well the climate she's a changin'!!!

  • gt_football Aug 13, 4:00 p.m.

"Looks like a mild week coming up. Despite the chance for rain, it should still feel pretty comfortable outside ...... looking forward to it."
    Wow, Thank you for that.

  • luvmyjackrascal Aug 13, 3:51 p.m.

Looking forward to those 70's! Can't stand this heat!

  • TruthBKnown Banned Again03 Aug 13, 3:50 p.m.

Remember when there was an impending ice age?

Never let a perfectly good crisis go to waste.

Corollary to that: When there is no real crisis, make one up.

  • mep Aug 13, 3:49 p.m.

The arctic has is shortest summer on record.

So Which “17″ is not dangerous?

    $17 trillion in debt?
A 17 year old banging your head against the pavement?
17 years of no climate warming?

Alarmists.... never let a good crisis go to waste... even if you have to create one. LOL.

  • Barely Aug 13, 3:38 p.m.

I was reading about how we are possibly entering a period of majorly reduced solar activity. That's be awesome if it produce more summers like this one.

  • Mo Blues Aug 13, 3:27 p.m.

The only AGW alarmists out there are people who don't live like it's true.

It sure didn't feel like 90 degrees today, and my children and I have been outside all morning since about 10 a.m.....

  • for the people Aug 13, 3:19 p.m.

the climate discussion has been highjacked by the extreme conservative media and the extreme liberal media. there is no win there. it's been politicized.

i am a bit baffled by the rights position. climate change is going to be expensive and, as humans that dempend on our climate, we will have no choice but to pay for it some day. the money it will take is going to make the money we spent on wars, liberal social programs, and depressions seem like monopoly money in comparison.

"personally, i wish those who "cling to science" would actually look at the data"

Which I have. Now, why do you have a problem with listening to the experts? They are far better qualified to interpret that data than you and I.

"a volcano puts out more emissions in one eruption than we have in the last 100 years"

    So?

"I guess it's easy to ignore that fact. it doesn't fit into you man made global warming narrative."

You mean the facts which say it's happening, and the narrative put out by those who have something to gain by lying to you trying to convince you that it isn't happening?

  • Nope Aug 13, 2:45 p.m.

    firefalcon10"

Maybe you should start following your own suggestion!!!

"According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the world’s volcanoes, both on land and undersea, generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually, while our automotive and industrial activities cause some 24 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year worldwide"

hey, mep? I'm going to bet you still believe that "Climategate" was an actual scandal, and that it was "proven" East Anglia doctored their results.
