"I'll pay the back taxes if I can have the house :)" ScubaGirl

Wouldn't that be great... I think BB&T has plenty of interest in the home as well. After all, they have a note for $1.7mm and an scond for $250k out on the home.

Its funny: The Verbal's other N. Raleigh home is in foreclosure and has mortgages of $468k and $117k out on it.

Someone loves playing with other people's money.

The owner is Claude Verbal, II. and his wife. I am assuming that this is his father Claude Verbal who graduated from NC State. Sad

This distinguished alumnus earned his BS degree in mechanical engineering from NC State in 1964. He was the third African-American to graduate from North Carolina State University.

His distinguished career with General Motors Corporation began in 1964 in the Buick Motor Division. He quickly rose through the ranks, and in 1977, he became the first African-American to hold an executive position in the Buick Motor Division.

"It is her right to have parties at her home do the cops shut down parties when they are held $100.00 a plate for fund raisers."

They signed a contract with the HOA as a condition of buying their home. Any right to have loud and disruptive parties ended with that voluntary contract.

This place was exactly like "shot houses" (drink houses) that exist all over southeast Raleigh. The income tax authorities should be investigating. Also, Alcohol Law enforcement should have been notified as soon as there was evidence of bottled liquor being sold without a legal license.

  • my2cents-justsaying Jun 18, 12:15 p.m.

I cant believe I never heard of this place before!!! Sounds like a good party haha!

  • Tarheel Takeover Jun 18, 12:11 p.m.

This MacArthur neighbor sounds like he really enjoyed himself at this party (watching lap dances, drinking, hanging out in "hookah" rooms) he just didn't want his wife to find out how much he enjoyed it. It probably made him realize he got married too young! Happy Wife = Happy Life

  • com_mon_sents Jun 18, 12:10 p.m.

I think people need to read the "Raleigh Public Record" for more details of what occurred. I'm glad to hear that the neighbors can live free of these low class people. No class at all. ONLY thinking of themselves and how to earn the next dishonest dollar! Seems like they were good at that!!!

  • batcave Jun 18, 12:10 p.m.

Wake Med committed medicare fraud with our taxpayers dollars and they got a slap on the hand were you concern with that

Yes, just like these people , they will go to jail for fraud.zile1porkey
The cops can shut down parties, its called a noise ordinance.
now complains only in america, Only in America, what does that even mean? I doubt it ONLY happens in America.
Public nuisance laws, and they are violating a covenances by running a business out of the house , which is against the rules in most places thses days. Your comparisons don't really work, you don't know what you are talking about.

  • zile1porkey Jun 18, 11:49 a.m.

Wake Med committed medicare fraud with our taxpayers dollars and they got a slap on the hand were you concern with that? Someone need to take a flame thrower to your house because your neighbors don't like what you drive and the sound your vehicle makes when you come and go all hours of the night.

  • zile1porkey Jun 18, 11:46 a.m.

It is her right to have parties at her home do the cops shut down parties when they are held $100.00 a plate for fund raisers. Can't find any records of cops being called the neighbors upset because of who were coming to the parties and who doesn't show flesh when you in the pool that's what you do. If the money was paid for the hoa then they wouldn't have any grounds. You have to come to attend and you have to go when you leave. He attended one of the parties they just didn't have his cup of tea so he now complains only in america!

  • publicassistance Jun 18, 11:04 a.m.

Hip hop heaven. Sounds like the parties the mayor of Detroit was having in the executive mansion before he went down in flames.

These folks will get their hand slapped and move-on to the next scam....

  • JAT Jun 18, 10:59 a.m.

were the cops ever called to the house during one of these parties?

  • ripetomatoes Jun 18, 10:48 a.m.

This would be a great place for an armed robbery. More profitable than robbing a bank and you can escape into the deep woods. Obamacare forever

    Go for it...

I'm sure it will be just like in the movies.

Metropolitan Lifestyle Mansion? And this somehow flies above the radar of the usual yall? Really? The pools, how many? Hmm, very very interesting like they got places like this in Orlando I heard.

  • 007KnightRider Jun 18, 9:06 a.m.

Too bad I didn't know about Club Metropolitan before.

  • Obamacare forever Jun 18, 9:03 a.m.

So this is why I hear motorcycles racing around all the time. Someone needs to take a flame thrower to that place.

  • whatelseisnew Jun 18, 8:53 a.m.

"The husband made his fortune through medicare fraud. The federal government is currently suing to recover millions in assets."

What is hilarious about that is; Medicare itself is a fraud and a theft of taxpayer money on a National Scale.

  • whatelseisnew Jun 18, 8:52 a.m.

How is this different than any other behaviors? They were not stealing anything or robbing anyone or assaulting anyone so far was we know? I am not surprised that whey would not care about their neighbors peace and quiet. I constantly see support for lousy behavior and outright criminal acts, so no one should be at all surprised when more and more people decide to do whatever it is they feel like doing. Maybe they can find a party location next door to this Judge.

  • dcatz Jun 18, 8:47 a.m.

"money certainly doesn't buy class, decorum or character. why do people who have such an amazing house act like that?"

Because the owners are thieves. The husband made his fortune through medicare fraud. The federal government is currently suing to recover millions in assets.

  • jcthai Jun 18, 8:07 a.m.

Yeah, don't blame the HOA for this one. You wanna live next door to this disaster? Uh huh. I didn't think so.

  • htomc42 Jun 18, 8:06 a.m.

Why in the world am I the last person to hear about these "party houses", once they are shut down? Darn....

  • whyalltheproblems Jun 18, 8:03 a.m.

    good one, scubagirl :)

money certainly doesn't buy class, decorum or character. why do people who have such an amazing house act like that? guess i'm naive in thinking that they wouldn't.

  • Scubagirl Jun 17, 7:14 p.m.

I'll pay the back taxes if I can have the house :)

  • miseem Jun 17, 6:31 p.m.

There go those pesky home owners associations again.
