I just want it to cool off again. AC not working and they can't get to it until 4/22.

I am not objecting to getting rain, of course we need it. What we DONT need is for it to be blown out of proportion and hyped up to make a better news story. They make it sound as if there is no need to give the next days forcast because we will all be wiped out by the storm coming today, THATS what I object to. Call a normal spring storm just that, there is no need to deliberately overexaggerate it just for sensational purposes.

"I wouldn't be surprised if the storm system weakens as it heads east and we get nothing more than light drizzle around here. Seems to happen almost every time with these systems."
Where were you two years ago? Or can't you remember that far back?

Let's not forget about the drought people. The rainfall totals these past few months have been nothing short of pathetic.

"The mere mention of "severe" weather instantly puts me into panic mode. PLEASE, if its not truely a "severe" storm, dont hype it up. I know we need to be infomed, but its not necessary to scare the living daylights out of us."
I mean its not like they are predicting a hurricane to make landfall in North Carolina. It's that time of year like every year in the past they we will see an increased level of storm activity. Its quite common with the weather change being sporadic. Chill out.

@ shortcake, storms are very small, they can't possibly predict each and every one. The best thing they can do is say the conditions are favorable or they are possible. All you have to do is look at the history of this front to see it has been destructive, and with as hot and humid as it is, and is cool as it is behind the front, the air masses don't come together friendly.
I like being warned of potential despite what the usual yahoos on here say they'll just look out a window and be able to know what is coming 2 days later.

Elizabeth said this morning that the biggest danger od severe weather would come overningt. This is good because the temps are cooler which means less fuel for severe thunderstorms.
WE need the rain-once again, to get the water table higher!!
