And the comments on the different areas of town was not directed to where this store is, rather pointing out the fact that some areas are higher % of crime than others.

@cynda = I know exactly where this is, just past the Kick Back Jacks. What I am telling you is that area isn't the best of areas, surrounded by vacant buildings and low rent housing. It's a prime area for crime....just like the Mini City area, a once nice and decent area but no longer.

@jaecee = South Raleigh and Downtown areas are very different. The downtown area is heavily laden with restaurants and clubs that cater to all crowds. People from N Raleigh and other areas flock to the downtown scene because it's "trendy" nothing more. Everyone going down there understands the boundaries of where to go and where to stay away from. This area you call S Raleigh is widely considered Garner by most anyway. SE Raleigh is Rock Quarry and that area, no? I have no problem with the demographics in those areas just the statistics. I just know where I shouldn't be and that area is one among many.

Half of these comments are not even aimed at the correct location. This is not the one that just opened in the old Kroger space. This is the one in the old Winn Dixie space. So quick to join the bandwagon about something they apparently know NOTHING about.

I agree 100% with you...

Bartmeister...First of all this Carlie C's is not located in any of the areas you mentioned...Maybe he targeted this place because of the seclusion of the building...After 10pm most businesses in that area are closed so chances are he wouldn't be seen breaking in...My question is that if South Raleigh and the surrounding areas are so crime riddled then why are so many from the north and east of Raleigh want to flock to downtown Raleigh to drink and party or attend concerts right in the middle of the crime riddled neighborhood?

what's up with these young ones now adays - maybe playing too many video games where they involve robberies and shootings -too much time on their sides - he should have been out there working like everyone else instead of stealing from others

Thanks Nancy. That photo tells a lot.

@jaecee452 - You and I both know there is a much better chance of an establishment being hit with a crime in that neighborhood than in a more affluent section, like the Wakefield area. No area is immune to crime. There was a domestic violence murder in or very near Wakefield just last year. But you tell me where your chances are better of a crime, Chavis Heights, Walnut Terrace, McGregor Downs, North Ridge? This guy preyed on locations in this area for a reason.

Nancy...Wow, Carlie C's just opens because as we were told, that area was a food 'desert' - guess they're finding out why Kroger closed? Neighbors not exactly the best??? How about before making blanket assumptions about a neighborhood you get to know your geographical location...this Carlie C's has nothing to do with the closing of Krogers...Just because something is located in a certain neighborhood doesn't mean that it's bound to be robbed. I am sure your neighborhood has robberies and other crimes that are just not reported.

You have to see the photo of this character - he's so proud! And he's been at this a while, why is he still out there?
