    According to the Rich, these people should have worked harder. They deserve what they get even though us Rich were given everything and refuse to give back.

    “In my 45 years of working with the homeless, first in Winston-Salem, and for the last 39 years here in Durham, I have never seen conditions in our economy as bad as now or lasting as long as this recession. It is understandable that people are running out of savings and they are turning to the Durham Rescue Mission as a last resort,” Mills said Friday.

    That comment speaks volumes! What will it take for some to realize that most people are not just sitting around waiting for a handout? Yes, there is a small minority that take advantage of the system, but I am certain that the example used in this story did not choose to lose his home and become homeless.
