You pay a fee to make a penny bid, the more bids you make, the more fees you pay out.

Not a real auction at all.

>>not to blame the victim but when will people learn you can't get something for nothing. - 2thec

I do blame the victim(s). We have created a society where individuals do whatever they want without any forethought and then expect the government to come to 'fix' the situation. If it's too good to be true, then it is.

Note, I'm not saying I support the owners of this scam as I don't. But you can't fix or legislate away stupid.

>>“So, every time they bid a penny, I made 99 cents,” he said.

Seriously what kind of simpleton is going to fall for that? You could make laws until the cows come home and you're not going to be able to protect this guy from himself.

Hard times make people do dumb things. Hope the guys behind it do some serious jail time, since they probably stashed most of the money in some off seas bank account, just waiting for them to get out of jail.

It doesn't surprise me a bit that this went on known but unchecked. I filed a complaint with the Real Estate Comm, whose website says they investigate complaints against realtors. The realtor did not answer both points, the investigator even told her she didn't, and in the same letter told her they could find no wrongdoing and they were closing the file.

She's still out there, licensed, preying on people, and we get to pay pension and health insurance for the investigator and his manager. Wonder what the Auditor's doing next week...

Mr.Cooper was asleep at the wheel on this one.

"Our republican legislators will see to it that we will be more business friendly and companys like this will be allowed to continue operating." Middle of the Road

The article reads, "North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper isn't investigating ZeekRewards". Roy Cooper is a Democrat and is not investigating. I point his party affiliation out because that has about as much to do with this story as Republican policies: NOTHING AT ALL. Your hatred of Republicans is really pathetic. timexliving

Wow, you are really sensitive. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

"I may be mistaking you for someone else, but I seem to recall you being very anti-Occupy Wall Street in your postings."

Second attempt at posting a reply here.

I did not support their movement. It was useless and their approach was anything but productive. They left areas they occupied dirty and the crime surrounding their movement was not positive either.

“I know every time I went to Lexington, there was 3, 4, 500 people standing outside the door every day ready to put their check in,” the man said. “Anybody you sign up, you make 10 percent of what they make.

I mean it was like 3 or 4 or 500 people. Not 100 or 200? Lol

Not to blame the victim but when will people learn you can't get something for nothing.

The former pres of the UNC system who we won't mention fostered a culture wherein the majority could make up their rules within gov't structure resulting in a situation where the only criminals were those caught in the act, making laughing stock of law abiders. That's what I was told.
