Thanks Hokie. Your team played with a lot of heart and gave us all we could handle. I like what I saw of your new coach too. Maybe he can get things turned around in Blacksburg soon. I agree with Senor Wuf that I would not want to play you guys in the ACC tourney. Heck, the way State has played everyone close this year, I don't think I want to play anyone in the ACC tourney. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

ncsuX got lucky!
Post by timdouthit
My second laugh for today. It's over. State has a chance to move forward and advance. Wishing State the best on down the stretch. Once again. Congratulations to all State fans. Winning at home is key.

I know, right! It is some kind of a conspiracy. Today it was Tim Nestor, Gary Maxwell and Mike Eades. I can't believe they gave them 7 free throws!
Post by WestRawleeTroll Club
Good one. I haven't laughed all darn day.
Post by senor wuf
I appreciate your sincere approach to this one senor wuf. I know that you're right about State taking it to the hoop inside. But, we did take it inside a bunch of times too, but not quite as often. Still. This is a huge variance. I'm a numbers person. I don't know how it went into OT. State learned something from this one. My Hokies did too. I wish State the very best on down the stretch. The Hokies will not go forward after the ACC Tourney. State will.
Post by Hokie 94
The refs almost cost us the game by giving those 7 freethrowss to VT. Every ref tries to cheat us out of every game.
Post by timdouthit
I went to ESPN before the game was over. I promise. I've never seen this in my many years of playing, coaching, watching, nor reading about a particular game. Never.

That was my only theory as well, but 43 to 7 is unreal! Keep in mind that 2 of them were on a technical foul, so they only really shot 5. Does anyone know what the breakdown was for each half? I thought there were a lot of calls that did not get made in the first half, on both teams. The 2nd half seemed better, but I did not realize that State shot that many more free-throws. Another interesting stat is that Va. Tech made 80 field goal attempts with 23 - 3 point attempts while State only attempted 55 field goals with 18 - 3 point attemps. I do not remember Va. Tech shooting that many more times either. Va. Tech only had 7 more offensive rebounds than State. Quite a few odd stats about this one as far as I can tell.
Post by TB in NC
I'm extremely proud. I just wish the players could focus in games like they did today. I'm all about playing with heart, mind, and leaving it all on the court. They did this. I love this team today. They haven't always worked this hard; though.
