    LOL :)

  • HappyGirl08 Feb 15, 7:43 p.m.

And also....please call the national weather service and tell them they forgot to include my portion of Chatham County in the weather advisory. I'm sure it was an oversite!

There is a saying: we born and bred here know that if you don't like the weather in North Carolina, wait five minutes!

That is what they say in every state ...Hey the worst winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.

  • highvolt1 Feb 15, 7:25 p.m.

Breaking News..............A flake of has been sighted.

  • Uhavenoclu Feb 15, 7:23 p.m.

Weather advisory issued for Saturday as rain could turn to snow

Nice headline but you forgot could turn to snow with a chance of possibly being hit by a meteor, opr astoroid,or risk of fire disabling the toilets and long lines at HT for bread and milk.

Uh oh,better go out of state for the weekend...heavy rain and onwe snowflake they shut the state down before it even gets here.

  • golfin69 Feb 15, 6:36 p.m.

@Uh huh dats right, it was Tuesday Aberdeen Area I always check the weekend ahead normally Monday or Tuesday so I can plan accordingly and its just frustrating when you pull up the forecast and it says 55 and two days later its not even close to what was put out there, you look see it was suppose to be decent so you start making plans then Friday Morning rolls around and its changed to a terrible day for outdoor activities. I know the weather is unpredictable but come on...

  • robertbsmith1 Feb 15, 6:28 p.m.

It seems that anytime that there is rain or snow that it is portrayed as the end of the world. Why is a little rain or a snow flake a major news event? Guess we all better get milk, bread and eggs and go underground until the crisis passes. Maybe the government will tell me what to do!!!!!!!

  • Relic Feb 15, 5:34 p.m.

If I wanted snow, I'd live in Buffalo. Pass on by, evil cold white stuff.

  • warbirdlover Feb 15, 5:25 p.m.

  • RadioDJ Feb 15, 5:19 p.m.

The Other sources I mention are the GFS and a couple of NAMS runs. The GFS has been calling for a major storm right up the coast into New England for about 7 days now, and not until the last day or two have the other forecasts begun to follow suit. WLOS and WCNC.com (out of Charlotte area) have been forecasting this a bit bigger the past few days, and wxsouth.com in particular has been calling for that second moisture event for days now. There is a ridge forming which should really pump up the volume if it coincides with the cold front moving in, so there are still a lot of ifs in the scenario, but the closer it gets, the more it looks like this may be a pretty major event for the eastern half of the state, and up where I am in the Northern NC mountains. Look up Brad Panovich and WxSouth on Facebook. You'll get info on potential snow events much sooner from them than you will from the central and eastern NC stations.

  • driverkid3 Feb 15, 4:51 p.m.

paultaylorsr100, nope. It's time for us snow lovers to have some of the cool stuff instead of the stifling temperatures that we are stuck with for most of the year.

  • Cock a doodle doo Feb 15, 4:44 p.m.

@ Golfin, I'd like to know when they said that, just be specific, and tell us where, because we can certainly google it. Although, I agree with you on the other aspects, as late as yesterday, Greg O'Fishel said there was absolutely no chance of any winter precipiation, while both ABC11 and NBC17 said there was a chance of some winter precipitation, both mentioning it would non-substantial. Nonetheless, Greg said NONE. No Chance.

  • golfin69 Feb 15, 4:07 p.m.

I understand a Forecast is what it is, However a couple of days ago the forecast for our area was 54 for the High on Saturday WRAL said in my area I took a picture of it but no way to post, the reason I took a picture was because the weather channel was saying High of 42 with chance of snow. THIS WAS A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO not a week ago come on WRAL that forecast was way off but I know no one accountable.. time for me to tune elsewhere...

If there are really places putting down brine they are wasting it...the rain at the beginning will wash the brine away before any snow starts...assuming it changes over

    Fayetteville already putting down brine...lol

  • anderson Feb 15, 1:59 p.m.

The forecast coming from a couple of other sources is calling for a "potential" of up to 3 to 5 inches for your area "If" a second low comes up the coast late Saturday to feed more intense moisture into this system. The Eastern half of the state could really get a good amount falling very fast and hard late Saturday. Right now, it's too early to call, but you just may get a good dose of it.

I've kinda though that too. This storm has the POTENTIAL to bomb out quickly off the coast once it forms. What are those "other sources"?

  • klink Feb 15, 1:57 p.m.

    special brownies! YAY!

  • junk999 Feb 15, 1:46 p.m.

Why does the iControl snow accumulation forecast show more snow in the Triangle and N. Durham than Elizabeth's prediction?

  • sarahsoandso Feb 15, 9:23 a.m.

Picture #3 suggests the Saturday night low is 38 degrees. The article suggests snow... how does that work exactly?

  • iluvjunk Feb 15, 9:16 a.m.
