Um I don't think it is pointless especially to Tyler or his family, whether it was said or not. That was actually extremely rude. I don't think you consider your parents/grandparents pointless. He played Miami the day after and did extremely well proving how tough he is mentally but that does not mean hearing about something like this doesn't upset him. I don't think a grown man, and his dad at that, would make up hearing this so the point that they even sounded similar is terrible. Yes it may have just been a few students but I could not imagine dealing with a loss of a family member then hearing such things come from a fan base.

Don't worry Dukies. If your team plays well enough to go into the tournament as one of the top four teams, Dickie V will clear the air about what really happened at the now famous "Chantgate" game. He's like Dukes unofficial lawyer.

OMG, still arguing about something that clearly happened. According to reports in today's paper Tyler's Dad heard it -- it was his Mother they were chanting about -- she died a week ago....

The Duke students veered away from their cheer sheet and got crudely creative with the "How's your Grandma" chant.

Enough. It happened.

It's good for the rest of America to get a glimpse into the dookie mindset. We here in the Triangle already know the deal. We have to live around these people.

I think the point here is that everyone agrees this could easily come from the Dook student section. No one is surprised. We expect this type of behavior from them. That is sad.

Any Duke student/fan that doesn't understand that they are perceived as pretty much the lowest of the low by the rest of the college basketball community really needs to check themselves. I pity them.
