You have to have an ID to get your welfare check, food stamps, WIC and SSI Disability and no one complains about that, so why the big deal to vote? Maybe it is because you are doing it in a fradulant way?

A new place to use photo ID - to obtain a rabies vacination at the durham county animal shelter (per Durham County Sheriff's office) "No appointment is necessary but a photo ID is required". If we need an ID to cash a check, go to the doctor, get some medicines and have your dog vacinated why not to vote. I think voting is pretty important and I don't want someone going in with my name and voting. What is there to prevent that right now? It's not racist in my mind, it just makes sense.

Let the GOP have their Voter ID, Barber... In NC, there are 1.3times as many "white" living in poverty as there are "blacks"... In fact "whites" account for 44% of all people living in poverty in NC...

Voter ID will certainly effect all races, but in sheer numbers, more poor whites will be effected than any one minority group...

Curious, has any one questioned why the GOP would want to spend money installing a system of Voter ID when every registered voter in NC already receives a Voter ID Card???

The actual Black poverty rate is 33% in NC and 35% in the US (statehealthfacts.org 2011 stats).
