If one's guns are stolen, then one is not safe gaurding his rights or the rights of others and therefore should be held accountable for that misuse of that right.

  • mandre4 Jan 31, 2013

Why exactly are none of these people in police custody????

  • Titus Pullo Jan 31, 2013

"Is there anyone out there stupid enough to believe any additional gun control legislation"

    Yes, there are.

  • exador7 Jan 31, 2013

All out war on drugs would be good....

  • HANS FOR PRESIDENT!!!!! JK Jan 31, 2013

If I have 10 guns in my house laying on the kitchen counter, all of which I purchased legally and someone looks through a window and decides to kick my door in and steal them I would laugh in the face of someone telling me I owed them a 250k fine. They were locked up....in my house.

  • Scare Crow Jan 31, 2013

I think that when they get out of the hospital the cops should give them their guns back and let them go at it again, you know, finish the job they started.

  • working for deadbeats Jan 31, 2013

    lol!

  • HANS FOR PRESIDENT!!!!! JK Jan 31, 2013

Is there anyone out there stupid enough to believe any additional gun control legislation or Obama'a 23 Executive Orders would have prevented this??? Instead of more laws that criminals like these will also ignore why don't we enforce the laws that already exist?

Plenty of people out there that are that stupid. Take @amenmike for example. He'she thinks we should fine someone a quarter of a million dollars if they legally buy a gun, lock it up, and some nimrod breaks in and steals it. Meanwhile he said nothing about enforcing stiff penalties on the ones that actually broke the law. Scares me that I'm surrounded with people that actually think that way.

  • streetglide Jan 31, 2013

we can only wish they were as good of shots as they were useless American citzens and in that Durham area,, I would say around 60% fall into that category!!

  • dwr1964 Jan 30, 2013

See...criminals with guns. Bought illegally. Or stolen. Why does Osama Ben Obama refuse to go after these people, instead of us honest, law abibing citizens? I have a theory, but you anti gun people really don't want to hear it.

  • amenmike Jan 30, 2013

Stolen gun because some gun owner DIDN'T have the sense to lock up his guns. I say fail to lock up guns, if they get stloen, that's a felony with a $250,000 fine. That will control this insanity.

  • lacockrell Jan 30, 2013

Story does not state what type weapon was used (rifle vs. hand gun) .. But if HAND GUN i.e. PISTOL'S, Then why were all three not charged as well with possession of a firearm by a person(s) under the age of 21? Which by the way IS A GENERAL STATUTE IN NC !!!

  • scvmcdoc Jan 30, 2013

Obviously none of them had permits, they were all illeagaly in possession of a handgun. You MUST be 21 years old to apply for a concealed carry permit.

  • Sachseek Jan 30, 2013

I wonder if these fine gentlemen actually had concealed carry permits? and surely they must be outstanding law abiding, tax paying citizens?!

  • ThePunisher Jan 30, 2013

"I wonder if these fine gentlemen will end up losing their concealed carry permits."

Not if the dems get their way, they don't anyone to have guns, period.

  • WRALSUCKS Jan 30, 2013

"This is the reason we are facing severe gun control measures. ...Why were they not charged with using a weapon in a crime?"

So... since the current laws are not being enforced (which you accurately described) does anyone believe that passing gun control issues for legal owners is going to make a bit of difference? THINK please.

  • scvmcdoc Jan 30, 2013

  • mj1angier Jan 30, 2013

So, again, folks who can own or buy guns are caught committing crimes. I am sure passing another anti-gun law would keep them from doing bad...

And having been caught, they will get a slap on the wrist and sent back out to do it again.

How well is that feel-good criminal reform system working out again??

  • junk999 Jan 30, 2013

"I wonder if these fine gentlemen will end up losing their concealed carry permits."

Not if the NRA gets its way. Guns-for-felons program:

  • charmcclainlovesdogs2 Jan 30, 2013

GUN CONTROL? YES IT IS CERTAINLY NEEDED IN CASES LIKE THIS. A LOADED GUN IN THE WRONG HANDS.

  • charmcclainlovesdogs2 Jan 30, 2013

Gun Control? Another loaded gun in the run hands. We do need a law to tone these situations down. Too many getting injured and killed.

  • TWON Jan 30, 2013

I wonder if these fine gentlemen will end up losing their concealed carry permits.

  • junk999 Jan 30, 2013

He was released from the hospital and now the cops are looking for him? So, they didn't know he was in the hospital, or didn't realize he was shot and shot someone else until after his release? Let's hope there's a really good explanation for how this guy is back on the street.

  • SFSOLDIER Jan 30, 2013

This is the reason we are facing severe gun control measures. Look at these criminals. None of them should have had access to a weapon. All of the dealing drugs. In the vicinity of a school, no less. Why were they not charged with using a weapon in a crime? Put them away for ten years for using a weapon in the process of a crime and see how that works out….

  • outdoor592000 Jan 30, 2013

Wishful thinking mac240. Do these knuckleheads ever pay for anything? And a stolen gun in the bunch, no surprise there. I am sure new pending gun legislation is going to really fix that problem too.

  • mac240 Jan 30, 2013

Make them pay their medical bills also!
