I hope we don't lose satellite. Tonight is Ghost Hunter's night.

But guess that would be better than losing the whole danged house.

    Praying!!!

  • Voice of Reason 23 Jan 30, 7:53 p.m.

um, the students are studying in the tent, using their Ipads and books. It's also only required to have 1 student. They rotate around, so they can go to classes. Most of those students are probably smarter than people who think they are just wasting their time sitting in tents doing nothing.

  • DontVote4LiarsCheatsOrThieves Jan 30, 7:53 p.m.

Great! Why do these things always come through here after dark when we can't see it coming!?! Grrr...

Praying for EVERYONE in this thing's path. It's HUGE, the wind is already buffeting the house, and the storm isn't even near here yet.

Be smart and be safe folks! God can wait for ya! ;o)

"Students camp out for weeks to secure a place inside Cameron Indoor Arena when the Tar Heels visit."

For a basketball game? Really? Why are you in school again?

Some of us had to work really hard to graduate from college, and even harder just to get there. Maybe you aren't being challenged enough or else your priorities should be checked.

These are probably the same people we should worry about whenever a storm hits because of the demonstrated lack of sense!

And yet, his/her handle is "OpenM1nd."

The tents in K-ville were taken down (the ones that can be taken down and don't have to be disassembled) at the direction of the head line monitors because the high winds. They didn't blow down.

  • JohnnyVoodoo Jan 30, 5:45 p.m.

People need to take this storm very seriously. It's bad enough that it will be here in the wee hours of the night. I only hope that when daylight comes, we're not on the morning news with overhead footage showing total devastation. Everybody get prepared....this could be of biblical proportions.

  • FlyingUnderTheRadar Jan 30, 5:45 p.m.

    Toupee alert!!

  • Desiderata Jan 30, 5:08 p.m.

I hate when storms roll through late at night. You are virtually blind. Fortunately, I'm up late anyway, and I won't go to bed till the worst moves through.

i think they are testing the doppler 50000 ... seems that the tuesday reports, so far, are accurately reporting what happen today.

  • Skywatch_NC Jan 30, 3:00 p.m.

Proof read, WRAL ...its Wednesday not Tuesday.

  • Reformed Liberal Jan 30, 2:58 p.m.

Is today Tuesday? Feels like I already worked 3 days this week.

  • nopartyloyalty Jan 30, 2:35 p.m.

I thought the storm was coming our way later today, not Thursday evening?? Plus the Tuesday update is stating what happened today (Wednesday) in Georgia.

  • romneycare Jan 30, 2:30 p.m.

what, when, where... i wanna know how and why.

  • commonsense4 Jan 30, 2:16 p.m.

I'll take some heavy rain, but not a tornado. The salt is still on many roads and its also on the sides of cars. A good soaking might save me a buck or two on a car wash.

  • PracticalMagick Jan 30, 12:07 p.m.

Hey...When I left the house this morning, I had a gazebo bolted to the deck. Now I don't.

  • Ozzie Jan 30, 10:17 a.m.

Skywatch_NC I agree with your comment. Saw a empty cart in my neighborbood put a large dent in a car once when it was blown away by high winds!

  • archmaker Jan 30, 9:47 a.m.

    happy windsday piglet!

  • Skywatch_NC Jan 30, 9:10 a.m.

Today is my neighborhood's trash and recyclables pick up day. Hope the trucks get here early as empty carts can be like missiles in high winds.

  • romneycare Jan 30, 8:32 a.m.

this storm has already caused forceful damage in the other states. Hope we can avoid the worse, here in NC.

  • BigSteamnTurd Jan 30, 8:31 a.m.

Yes, just what we've been waiting for.

Another day this month to chase pieces of our home as the wind dismantles it and use some SPF 50.

Two things you can count on in January.
