    Dear BillFisher:

I would like you to interview me. As a single mother, I received food stamps while I finished my education. I would like to think that my vocabulary is more expansive that the average person (as I scored a perfect score on my SAT verbal, and graduated at the top of my class in college). Additionally, in general conversation I am more eloquent than...well, hey, probably you!

Next time you make broad generalizations about classes of people, remember that there are people like myself (a food stamp and medicaid recipient) that are working harder to achieve stability for their family than any of these right wing nuts who discredit people like myself without any consideration to the circumstances.

How was that for sounding dumb?

This gentlemen was fustrated with the situation of having a $300 light bill so he told his girlfriends 18 year old son and his 18 year girlfriend that were living there to get out. I don't believe he should have went to the extremity to have shot rounds into his own home to try to scare them. Just to show what alcohol can do to some people.

so everyone can be armed with their nice, shiny AR-15s and protect their own. Sounds like a great solution to me!

Most AR-15 and other personal defense weapons are not shiny.

Gun control? You betcha. AGAIN, A LOADED GUN IN THE WRONG HANDS. CONTINUE TO ARGUE YOUR OPINIONS. SO WHERE HAS IT GOTTEN YOU SO FAR, SHORT OF THE KILLINGS, AND INJURIES?

  • Billfisher Jan 30, 11:34 a.m.

Ever see these gun advocates interviewed on television? I swear they are the dumbest people this country has to offer.

    Obamacare rises

Ever seen the ones receiving food stamps and housing allowances interviewed? They take the cake.

Besides disagreeing with you, tell us something you have heard them say that was dumb?

  • smcallah Jan 30, 11:09 a.m.

"There is no "right" to own a particular type of gun and your Liberty does not trump the right to live of the 8000 Americans slaughtered every year by your sad toys."

Unless MY guns are hurting someone, then my liberty is in tact. My right does not trample other rights unless I make it happen. Someone else doing crime is not me, they are the ones trampling rights. Punish them.

  • redapace Jan 30, 11:03 a.m.

The yahoos always lose when the government comes for their guns.

  • djhartm Jan 30, 11:03 a.m.

Oh boy, better pass more gun control laws to get rid of those evil things!

  • rationality Jan 30, 10:57 a.m.

The alcohol doesn't pour itself into the glass and then into the mouth of the drinker, and makes him/her get into the car and drive drunk.

The spoon doesn't scoop itself into the ice cream and then into the mouth of the over-eater.

But, apparently people think that a gun has a mind of its own and has powers over its user.

I've never seen a gun on trial in court. I've always seen people who committed crimes with guns on trial, though. It's people who are or are not in control.

Criminals have to love what is happening now. People are making their chosen vocation so much easier.

" Pass any law you want, criminals will break it."

Guess we should get rid of all laws as criminals have a bad habit of breaking them anyway.

Point well missed. I never said we don't need laws. We absolutely do. There has to be consequences for actions. Even sarcastically recommending that we rid ourselves of law is ridiculous. Now recommend that punishments fit crimes....there's something that makes more sense. I just don't have the misconception that everyone can be saved

  • Plenty Coups Jan 30, 10:14 a.m.

It's amazing they try to argue this perspective. Laws don't work.

Why I am not surprised the cops and wral both out the blame on him. It will be interesting when the true story comes out how WRAL reports it and it ends up the man was just defending himself from a bunch of trigger happy cops.

    mojridingrb
how exactly is coming out of your home with a weapon, in front of cops, protecting yourself? seems he would have a point if they broke down his door , and then he shot....Dudes nuts....lock him up and remove any chance of him ever getting his hands on another one

  • SouthernPackerFan Jan 30, 9:58 a.m.

    Nauti-dog"

Nope, just protect us from each other. At any rate, you are right... laws generally do not work. If someone "wants" to commit a crime, then they will do so regardless of the punishment. Heck, even faced with the death penalty will not stop some. So how about this... let's just get rid of all laws. From now on, we do not need laws to protect children from sexual predators. Go ahead, drink and drive! Thefts and robberies are within the bounds now too. But at the least, there will not be any gun control laws, so everyone can be armed with their nice, shiny AR-15s and protect their own. Sounds like a great solution to me!

  • Crumps Br0ther Jan 30, 9:51 a.m.

See? Now if only more people had more and bigger guns, things like this would just stop happening, right wingers?

    geosol

Yep that gun got up off the table and took over the entire house and waited for the cops to come. No human had any part in the actions of the gun. You liberals cant even have a complete thought on this issue. It isnt about guns for you, its about control. The mere fact that you ignore everything else on this issue shows you are not interested in any discourse. You dont like guns and thus believe that no one should like guns. You're going to lose on this one, stick to your gay marriage crusades, you have better traction with that one.

  • Crumps Br0ther Jan 30, 9:47 a.m.

He looks like another fine member of the NRA.

    Obamacare rises

Hypocrisy, how does it work? Moere do as we say not as we do from the liberal left. If it wasnt for double standards you wouldn't have any standards at all.

  • HANS FOR PRESIDENT!!!!! JK Jan 30, 9:23 a.m.

All the more reason we need more gun control such as making it a law to lock up weapons especially when one uses drugs in the house or has an issue with a family member having anger management problems. I am even for legal gun owners to have to keep mal pratice insurance, time for a change .

All you lefties keep on thinking that it's government's job to protect us from ourselves. And keep thinking that they could if they tried. Pass any law you want, criminals will break it. We all have to be accountable for our own actions, and not sitting around whining about "tougher laws" that you think will make criminals say "oops, guess they mean business now. I'd better be a good boy going forward". Get your head out of the sand
