As we've learned from national politics, you're allowed a mulligan 4 years. McCrory needs to practice the, "the mess we inherited from the prior administration" meme and use it the next 5 years.

Penching Pennies??? Why did he raise his cabinet with out results??? Why are our officials only just now getting to work and only working 4 days to boot??? Til June as well?? Don't these same politicians complain that teachers are overpaid and they have it made for 10months... What a joke! However, any other state employee has to work with no raise in sight, and have to work and document all work?? I think we as voters should vote pay cuts for all of the ones in office?? I mean how is it they vote for themselves raises(merely just agree), when they clearly vote no raises, instead most likely cuts to all state employees??? The government is supposed to work for the people not against them... What a joke!

The angst of some posters is palpable - it's interesting to read.

Well you can forget state funded education then, with the unemployment rates as high as they are now. It goes back to all those JOBS a certain Party were going to make I guess.

"I'm just worried about how they're going to pay for the millions it will cost to buy people IDs in order to be constitutional."

They can skip a few packs of smokes or a few cans of beer or maybe return one of their tv's if that's what it takes, but from here on,

    NO ID,

    NO VOTE!

"The people of NC elected a Republican House, a Republican Senate, and a Republican governor. Let's let them do the jobs they were elected to do."

The GA, govna and state supreme court all all republican now. No excuses. I expect NC to be a shining accomplishment of an abundance of good paying jobs, good education through the university level, a thriving middle class and low poverty after all the trash talking I've heard and read.

If you fall short, you can always blame Obama. And Bev, and leftie professors, and immigrants...

Enough is Enough People & Nancy: My posting about Flextronics was facetious...You all know had Purdue still been in office when this was announced, it would have been all her fault...Please, lets be honest here, the 4 years she was in office every lay off was laid blame on her from the right...I know the Governor is not responsible for these layoffs. But if the Right is going to blame Purdue for the layoffs when she was in office, why can't they take blame when McCroy is in office?...Let's fair about this now.....(being facetious)

Nice to see the little right wing _____ are wide awake this morning....

"Nice to see that the little left wing wienies are wide awake this morning. They are already parroting what the fat man on the radio, Commandant Shultz is telling them to say. Please make sure to watch Chris Matthews today, I'm sure his tingle will fix you right up."

Some of us received a good education and don't believe everything we hear on TV.. You should try it.

"Let's watch them fund education based on job placement when a large portion of student population IS FROM OUTSIDE THE US!!!"

how large a part? My kids were from outside the US......and they have had no difficulty getting jobs.

Why do only regular public schools have to follow the state rules if all three are now going to get taxpayer money?
    says Plenty Coups

Ouch, guess we hit a sore spot? PC, you should maybe watch a bit of Fox News occasionally and turn off MSNBC once in a while. I watch both to get both sides, it is obvious you do not.

  • Grand Union Jan 30, 10:25 a.m.

"Wrong PC, education is the goal, not public school indoctrination, big difference."

as opposed to church or private school indoctrination? And perhaps you are mistaking the truth for indoctrination due to your lack of a decent education?

  • Grand Union Jan 30, 10:22 a.m.

"How do you cash your welfare/unemployment check without ID?"

I have no idea....never been on welfare or unemployed....

  • Plenty Coups Jan 30, 10:08 a.m.

Yoda-"Wrong PC, education is the goal, not public school indoctrination, big difference."

Aah, just call it "indoctrination" because it doesn't teach a "FOX news" version of reality, huh? And of course you have no proof of your "indocrination" claim, as usual. Just another unsubstantiated claim. The republican big plan is taxpayer support of private schools and charter schools, where there is far less accountability of taxpayer dollars. Great. If the philosophy is that competition, rules, and bureacracy limit schhols effectiveness, why don't they just come out and say that "all schools shouldn't have to follow the rules". Why do only regular public schools have to follow the state rules if all three are now going to get taxpayer money?

Thankfully I'm employed with ID so I don't have to worry about it.

They couldn't be more clear with their actions and comments bashing teachers and public education. Public education is NOT a priority. says Plenty Coups

Wrong PC, education is the goal, not public school indoctrination, big difference.

  • jgilchr Jan 30, 9:50 a.m.

Come on now. They have only been in office for not even a month. Flextronics has been a client of mine for years. Their problems started long before the Republicans took office.

Actually you are incorrect. the GOP took over the NCGA majority beginning in 2011.

  • Plenty Coups Jan 30, 9:20 a.m.

wakethespitup-"If you're too pitiful to obtain and show an id then you have no business voting."

I'm just worried about how they're going to pay for the millions it will cost to buy people IDs in order to be constitutional. They kept telling state employees "they're broke" but apparently not when it comes to things THEY value, like raises for Tillis' staff, huge raises for McCrory's department heads, and more rounds of tax cuts. They couldn't be more clear with their actions and comments bashing teachers and public education. Public education is NOT a priority.

"Flextronics Americas is permanently closing a plant in Creedmoor that produced Redbox DVD rental kiosks, affecting 157 employees"....Great job GOP, way to keep those jobs here in NC.

    hppyhourhero

Come on now. They have only been in office for not even a month. Flextronics has been a client of mine for years. Their problems started long before the Republicans took office.

We on the left need to stop throwing absurd statements like this about the GOP. Lord knows we overreact when they say something absurd about us. Lets be better than that. We need to address issues rather than spreading lies.

""Flextronics Americas is permanently closing a plant in Creedmoor that produced Redbox DVD rental kiosks, affecting 157 employees"....Great job GOP, way to keep those jobs here in NC." hppyhour

How did the GOP create that job loss?

  • xylem01 Jan 30, 8:41 a.m.

Alright, well let's see what the Red's can do since all they ever do is complain about the Blues. Should be interesting to say the least!

  • BigSteamnTurd Jan 30, 8:35 a.m.

jgilchr, if you are worried about voter suppresion because you have to whip out an id, like you do for most everything else in life, then you go right on and worry yourself on over that cliff.

If you're too pitiful to obtain and show an id then you have no business voting.

  • atozca Jan 30, 8:33 a.m.

Apparently jgilchr, they are following their leaders in Washington...
