Would 3 strikes not apply for the older brother due to his priors and current charges? I am older now and my memory doesn't serve me as well as it used to....but...I seem to recall in NC 20-30 years ago that the penalty for a home invasion carried a long sentence of jail time. We need to get tougher sentences on any crime with a victim of any sort. I feel that if you commit any violent crime against another human being then you have now forfeited your ability and right to live among the rest of society. Laws must be changed and have much stiffer penalties when the crime involves any victim, period.

Remember that the wife actually got away and had to run to another house to call the police. I've got a couple or so firearms strategically placed in my house. If I get away, I'm not running to a neighbor but rather my closest firearm.

One will get 20 to 30, the other will be out by time he's 18. We really need to do an overhaul of the crimminal system. But we also need to be ready to pay for it.

And this is why I have 2 German Shepherds and several guns! get past one that wakes me up, I promise you will not get past the second. Heavenly

I have three large dogs and guns as well. If those poor folks had a chihuahua and a gun we would have a different outcome and maybe some savings for the taxpayers.
