why are you being sympathetic to someone who almost killed somebody? Liberal logic. If someone breaks a law they must have had a good reason for it and just need a hug to make everything alright. Libs soft on crime and then they apologize to the perp for making society so hard on them.

Probably because she wasn't taking the situation serious enough...and her body language showed it.....why do you think the magistrate would say something like that? Unreal..it must be nice to live in your world where you think people are treated with as someone said "kids gloves".

Judges are very powerful people in our society and legal system. They have forever been held in high honor and respect, thus the proper way to address a judge is "your Honor". To stand before a judge, accused of nearly killing an innocent man while driving with a suspended license (and thus uninsured), and to openly display contempt, disinterest and a complete lack of concern for what she has done demands, in my opinion, that the judge address it. The best judges do not simply sit back and hear cases. They pay attention and they get involved with both parties being heard. They sometimes have an opportunity to get the attention of someone who isn't grasping the situation at hand & hopefully make them a better citizen

That's right! Ms. Yvonne McDade should have been treated with kids gloves. I can only imagine how traumatic it was for her to endure this public lambasting by Ms. Jones. I just hope she isn’t emotionally scarred by her experience with the judicial system. Hopefully everyone realizes that she’s the REAL victim in this story. Give me a break!

I don't think it's time to crank up the conspiracy machines for this one. I have an easier explanation--perhaps the judge was annoyed at the callous indifference the defendant displayed at both her illegal actions and the plight of the victim. Sounds like this fine young woman is a budding sociopath.
