Not that 16 vs 40 is any better, but here is what the Daily Reflector is posting....UPDATE:

Sgt. Joe Friday with the Greenville Police Department said the victim of a kidnapping and assault was a 40-year-old woman, not a 16-year-old girl as originally stated in a press release.

Friday also said the two know each other, though the relationship is not yet clear.

How many times is this guy going to be allowed on the streets before he finally kills someone? Our judicial system is a joke!!! If it were up to me he would receive the death penalty...eye for an eye

I guess he thought his action will make him a big man in prison where he should spend the remainder of his life. Sorry but a real man does not beat up on any person or animal for any reason except to defend your self or another person

Why aren't they calling this attempted murder? To beat a child that severely should require more than a first degree assault charge. Not enough is done to protect women from their abusers. When this worthless human being is able to come up with bail who will his next victim be? He is a coward and I hope he is incarceraed this time for is offenses. I hope that poor girl will be overcome the physical abuse. The emotional and mental aspects of what happened will take years and years. It's a tragedy that this occured. I am saddened by all the stories of men abusing women in the local news. Tougher laws may help deter some from abusing these poor women and children. Something must be done to stop this from occuring. The young lady and her family will be in my prayers.
