It's been 3 days and I haven't heard anything about the one I want to adopt. I am ready if someone will just let me know please!

  • Diva RN Jan 23, 6:14 p.m.

So sad that something bad happens to someone who has done so much good. I wish I could take just even one, but I have four of my own and am covered in vet bills right now :(

  • topfan4unc Jan 23, 4:21 p.m.

This woman is so special and is a blessing to those animals. Come on people, help her out! I offered to take one and I have three already. I, too, have made arrangements should something happen to me as I truly love my "children", fur and all!

Susan, prayers are with you and hope someone lets me know soon on the one I offered to adopt.

  • topfan4unc Jan 23, 4:16 p.m.

I sent in a request to adopt and anxiously awaiting to hear something back. I wish I could take more than one, but I have three "fur children" now.

  • They call me CATMAN Jan 23, 2:01 p.m.

God Bless Ms. Susan praying for you and your furry friends. I have 3 cats of my own and have 1 that I foster for a total of 4 cats in my home. If you don't want to adopt consider fostering. I have fostered for years and I get more out of it then I put in.

Hey...I just sent a message on Ms. Susan's website from the story...I can't afford to adopt any animals or give any money because of my financial situation but wanted her to know her and her furbabies were in my prayers. Maybe this is a silly idea...maybe not...but if you are in a position like mine, maybe you could go to her page and send a note of encouragement. I imagine it would mean a lot to her. She is a special lady that those animals and her friends and family are blessed to have in their life...though I've never met her...this shows in her love for others.

Come on, WRAL. Keep this story near the top where people can see it. Maybe it will help her find these animals a good home. That's more worthwhile than reading about it being cold outside, babbling politicians and Battaglia being on some stupid game show.

    Amen!

Ms. Susan..I hope this message gets to you somehow, and all of the other messages posted here. Maybe WRAL can get them to you? Your story has really touched my heart. With family and five furkids of my own I cannot afford to adopt any animals right now..I wish I could. Thank you for reminding us all that there are good people like you out there. God bless you and your furbabies and your mom. May He give you peace and wrap you in His arms and show you His love all of your days. He will be sure your furbabies are taken care of somehow...trust Him..He can do all things :).

I hope she is able to find homes for all of her furbabies. Both of my parents passed from cancer, and having their dogs and cats around them while they were sick was a godsend. Their dog, Rally, wouldn't leave their side and even slept in the bed during their final days.

Susan is such a great person and so full of love. I wish everyone had the chance to meet someone like her at least once in their life. Please keep her and her fur-babies in your prayers.

Nice to see a story about someone good. Hope she can find homes for all of her animals...I have 2 cats and 3 dogs and 3 kids so that's all I can afford...praying someone helps her find homes for them and that she is blessed for her love of others---both people and animals.

  • Watermelon Jan 23, 8:42 a.m.

I would take all her furbabies home for me if I had the money and space. Stories like this tug at my heartstrings so hard!

  • K9Tucker.LoveMYcop Jan 23, 8:36 a.m.

Sending prayers your way ma'am. I sincerely hope and pray your animals will find good homes.

  • 10hummingbirds Jan 23, 8:25 a.m.

This is so sad! I wish I could take some of them myself. Such a great deed that she has done, something that I would love someday to do myself. Help out animals that need rescued. My dogs are my 'kids' too. I will keep watch if I know of anyone that would love one of these animals.

  • WakeForestLiving Jan 23, 8:04 a.m.

Miss Susan is an awesome human being. Please keep her in your prayers.

  • jetset Jan 22, 6:27 p.m.

Hopefully she will be able to find loving homes for these animals and someone to help with her mother. This is so sad. My heart hurts for her. No doubt, the animals feel close to her and know something isn't quite right.

  • foster208 Jan 22, 6:15 p.m.

What a sad story, that this lady is struck with a malady that is usually associated with smoking and never smoked at all. Life is just not fair, at time. Let's find her animals a good home!!

This story is so touching. Ms. Lee may remember a couple of guys who built her a fence a couple years ago, Chris and Damian. I am the girlfriend of Damian and I remember him coming home from her house after work and telling me how wonderful and sweet this woman was. I work for The Fetching Post Pet Grooming in Zebulon. We have a huge love for animals. We have clients call all the time looking for pets after they have lost one or just because they would like another to add to the family. I sure hope we can help her find these babies good homes. Such an inspirational woman.....

I can only imagine her concern for her furbabies. With the story highlighted I feel sure good homes will be found for them all. If I didn't already have a house full I'd take some.

  • Skywatch_NC Jan 22, 5:07 p.m.

Bless her heart. Hope that she can successfully find her pets some new homes.
