"Deported? I didn't read anything in the story regarding his nationality. Did I miss that or are you making assumptions?" All The Same
Not only do I not make assumptions but I DO check out other news sources....

Wedjunald? Did his parents have speech impediments & were trying to name him Reginald? Too many times, criminals have weird names the parents have dreamed up. Makes you wonder if all the teasing they must put up with as a child makes them hostile.

To the family and friends of Angel, you guys are in my prayers.
Please understand that we are all shocked and upset that we will never be able to speak to our friend or hear her voice again. This is a tragedy for everyone. We are all shocked this animal was still on the streets from the first incident. Please take care to your comment and read up on domestic violence. Williams probably did all that she could within the boundaries of their friendship (Disabled Veteran). Now is not the time to be blaming anyone. We all should be send condolences to her family and friends through this post. She came to Raleigh NC for a better life. From the previous comments from this report and even others like the MLK report I am starting to regret moving here myself. Show some respect.

"And "everything's all bad" because the church doesn't have enough influence any more?"
thats just church advertising. Europe has more or less given up on Religion entirely and has no more crime than here and a lot less murder.

"Fine, send some of them overseas and let our soldiers come home"
great ambassadors they would make....and they would learn how to kill more efficiently...yeah thats a real good idea.

"If they stuck with the death sentences some have been given there would be more room for the rest! (and I am talking about the ones that are gulity with out any doubt... just like this guy! Death sentence and do it right away!! dont make us support someone who is gulity and has admitted to it!)"
people often admit to doing things they didn't do.....and since the Constitution applies to everyone, even criminals, the rule of law has to apply.
I very much doubt he even considered the consequences of actions until he had already committed the crime as even a life sentence would deter any rational person.

"Was is shocking is that she didn't kick his rear-end to the curb then!" jandroxie88
Regrettably, this is not shocking at all.
All those "empowerment, awareness, community marches" really helped cut down on DV, didn't they?

A delusional, evil man murders someone then goes to a place of delusion and evil... not surprising at all.
Now all he has to do is say to himself, "Father, please forgive me" and he'll be floating on clouds, sipping hot tea with Jesus. While, on the other hand, two consenting adults of the same sex who love each other and engage in a physical relationship will be burning for eternity. And "everything's all bad" because the church doesn't have enough influence any more?

I agree bjandroxie88 - send the prisoners to fight the war & let our troops come home....I think that is a great idea!!!!

bjandroxie88-- agree 100%!

Its really hard to tell where a person from just by a name. My children all have foreign names to represent the country where their father is from and their middle name is what I call a (western name) to represent where I am from and thats the (USA).

'Deported? I didn't read anything in the story regarding his nationality. Did I miss that or are you making assumptions?'
according to reports, he is from haiti and has a record of criminal violence
bimbim Jan 22, 9:51 a.m.
What do you mean "shocked"? He hit her! Was is shocking is that she didn't kick his rear-end to the curb then!I agree with the other comments too. Our justice system is a joke. How many times does a person have to commit a crime before they are taken out of society so that the rest of us are safe? What happened to the "3 strikes you"re out" law? Is is jail overcrowding? Fine, send some of them overseas and let our soldiers come home. The justice system needs to enforce the laws of this country and stop worring about who they tick off. If this steps on anyone toes, so be it. Being politically correct is one reason this country has gone to #&*#!

Looks like the past has finally caught up to him! To bad he wasn't in jail like he already needed to be. This girl may still be alive if our justice system actually worked.
Whookneww Jan 22, 8:35 a.m.
If he killed her, church is not going to help him now!
dontstopnow Jan 21, 7:54 p.m.
They can keep changing the story all they want on this one but this guy should be locked up and the key thrown away. He is a monster and will continue this type of brutal behavior no matter how many times he gets out. He has proven that already.
Fuquay Resident Jan 21, 7:27 p.m.
Well, if he killed her, church is where he need to be.

Williams said Irby had come to her home in recent months claiming that Gemeille had hit her but that Irby urged Williams not to call police.
"It's a shock that this happened," Williams said.
Now I've heard it all.
Bartmeister Jan 21, 7:13 p.m.
