"Traveled to the Twin Cities, Elk River, Hudson WI. It's not because of the temps that I wouldn't live there, really........

    Bartmeister"

I'm only there for the work. The pizza here is terrible, although I did find one good neighborhood spot . . . When I can really finally retire (when is that?) I'll be back full-time to my eastern NC home.

  • Bartmeister Jan 21, 7:23 p.m.

Try Minneapolis, it's -5 for a high here today. Lucky you don't live up here, whiners.

It's going to be cold at night, so please take care of your outside pets if ya have em. Extra hay, bedding sure help em a lot.

For the first time, we agree on something. Be careful with your animals, nothing worse than ignoring them on nights like this.

You transplants annoy me! I am an NC native and still hate the mild winters and hot summers. I am dreaming of a white Christmas in January or February; either will be fine with me. And as far as global warming is concerned, there is no such thing!

gregg45 - " i hope all tuned into the coronation OF KING BARACK THE FIRST"

Inaugurations have been going on every four years since the 19th century. Reagan's had more pomp and pageantry but no one called it a coronation. And, why aren't the Repugnantican presidents called king? Hypocrite.

  • BigSteamnTurd Jan 21, 5:42 p.m.

Sorry Mr. Fish, not a flake coming with it.

  • teleman60 Jan 21, 5:22 p.m.

It's NOT GLOBAL WARMING -- IT'S CLIMATE CHANGE!!!

Quit using old phrases and realize that we're adding gases to the atmosphere that are like adding Gasoline to a fire!

The planet already has a system that includes CO2 but we are adding enormous amounts that are causing the weather changing events we are experiencing daily...

  • TeresaBee Jan 21, 4:33 p.m.

We might get 2 inches of snow starting Friday night.

  • iluvjunk Jan 21, 4:28 p.m.

You implants just kill me. LOL! Us true NC natives are used to the mild winters and hot summers. If the temp falls below 50, I freeze my butt off. Give me 110 degrees in the shade anyday.

I must be gettin' old. I remember, even in NC, when 'arctic blast' meant we were getting close to single digit lows. A forecast of a few days of lows in the 20's and maybe one morning in the low teens is merely what we should expect for mid-January....but 'seasonably cold' won't attract tons of viewers...so we get hyperbole. Oh, well, beats poly-ticks.. Poly ticks those pesky little critters that settle into the fur of your Hampsters. I believe you mean poly "tricks". ? Nuthin up my sleeve......................

  • bljnnc2004 Jan 21, 3:28 p.m.

    Its global warming.

  • romneycare Jan 21, 3:21 p.m.

one does not simply get up and move to another place.

LOL GravyPig - maybe he meant "if you like the cold, GO AWAY".

  • GravyPig Jan 21, 12:38 p.m.

"if you like cold , move back to where you came from"

I like the cold, but I'm from Aruba. How will moving back to where I came from help me?

  • randrmomanddad Jan 21, 12:36 p.m.

Find that someone special and cuddle up.!!!

  • gregg45 Jan 21, 11:58 a.m.

Well it is an arctic blast if it is coming straight out of the arctic you know.

  • driverkid3 Jan 21, 10:57 a.m.

  • Jimmytwotimes Jan 21, 10:54 a.m.

The high is 38 and that's an artic blast? Really

Uh yeah, is that ok with you? Your in Raleigh NC, the 30's are as cold as it gets all year for a high. technically this is arctic air coming from the arctic so, yes it is an arctic blast.

  • paddie Jan 21, 10:38 a.m.

Imagine that, it being winter and all.

  • simplelogic Jan 21, 9:44 a.m.

Wonder what that's going to do to the daffodils that are blooming...

  • romneycare Jan 21, 9:21 a.m.

    doubling up on socks tmrw

  • busyb97 Jan 21, 8:49 a.m.

That is not my definition of an arctic "BLAST". Cold snap/cold spell, yes. You want a blast? Go to Chicago...ouch! -27 wind chill today or tomorrow. THAT'S a BLAST (used to live there...we know!). I'll take 20's as my low any day!
