Maybe no one complains about ageism because they know, sadly, that it won't make a difference. I got a blatant dose of it last year: every phone interview was brilliant, then they got a look at the gray hair in person and decided my skills weren't there. What can you do? Answer the next ad. Old people know this. Just a theory, could be something else entirely.

I'll say it again: Crumps, you're SMOKIN'!

If anyone thinks he can strike a better deal at another workplace, he's free to do so. This hammering on individual freedom is what's killing jobs. Morrigan

You're becoming one of my favorites around here. great post!

Bottom line if Bev was doing a good job, either she would have ran again (even thou she barely won last time), or Dalton would have won. Neither of those things happened. So suck it up and drive on. Things didnt get better under her. She was just a little girl playing governor

Good point and very true. It's the only reason why Obama wa re-elected. timexliving

but if you look at it, not much changed overall except for a few seats. Its not near the mandate the left thinks it is. Congress was pretty much left in place. So Im thinking that even though Barry won, the people kept other things in place to make sure Barry was kept in check.

...while there is no evidence of any serious voter fraud here,

no real proof for voter suppression either, but that doesnt stop ya from singing that song

Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!" Liars and hypocrites

"Laser like focus on jobs" ringing any bells?

Hypocrite what?

I'm not worried people will starve, but kids will be a little hungrier and people will turn to Ramen noodles instead of nutritious food, and spike their sodium or blood sugar - and end up in the emergency room - and end up getting free healthcare- and you'll complain about it.

The cycle goes on. goldenosprey

Now your worried about people eating poorly? America has had an obesity problem for decades. People were making bad choices when they had money! So that dog wont hunt with that flimsy argument. Maybe if organic stuff was a little cheaper and lasted longer people might buy it. You can shop smart and healthy if you put some effort into it. Besides that, foosd prices have been rising for awhile now, because of fuel costs and everything else associated with it. But god forbid someone make a profit so they can feed their family

"A democracy can not last when the voters realize they can vote themselves more from the public treasury." lumberman

Good point and very true. It's the only reason why Obama wa re-elected.

They had one from 08-09 until Kennedy died, probably should have clarified, but you get the picture. StateFan99

well, 7 months actually... since Franken didn't get sworn in for months due to lawsuits...

I see the Government has continued to cut jobs. While I don't like seeing anyone become unemployed I am ENJOYING that trend and hope to see it continue. Obama made the famous comment "the private sector is doing fine" and said governments (state mainly) were cutting jobs and thats why job gains (overall) were small. Maybe there's a degree of truth in that, but I think the Private sector STILL needs to be doing much better than it has been. Seems like North Carolina is lagging behind most states in the recovery. Hopefully those looking for work can find it.
