Post by wolfbitesyourheels
Using that logic, UNC and DOOK should feel ecstatic...everybody rushes the court when they lose on the road! Unfortunately...rushing the court is vastly overrated. Let's just hope can play well enough to get six teams in the Dance at tournament time!
Post by PackFan1983
Duh....there is no 2008 banner to begin with!

Maryland is not that bad of a team, 14-3 now. They only lost to a good Miami team by 7 at Miami, had FSU beat and blew it to lose by 3, and beat VT by 23. State is the better team but this should not have surprised anybody, Maryland always give good teams all they can handle after a big win. They also have one of the best defenses in the country, even in their losses they have not given up a lot of points. Maryland played good defense tonight but State was just cold, missing open shots. I was thinking in the first half that they were playing like they did against Oklahoma St. Its no big deal and will not be their last loss for sure. I was expecting them to lose 4-5 games when the season started, looks like they might lose 6-7, but it will still be a big improvement over last year and they should go far in the tournement. They just need to win 5-6 in a row now, 20-3 would not exactly be a terrible team, 14-3 isn't a terrible team and a lot better than in the past. They are still going to have bad games, every team will, Duke, UNC, Miami, etc all will lose more games. And Maryland will be a tournement team and will win another game or two against better teams. State will be fine and I still like their chances of being at or near the top of the conference when the year ends. Even as bad as they played tonight it came down to one mental lapse, Leslie went for the block when he should have boxed out, box out on that last play and you probably win. I think at least half of the State fans could see this coming and should not have been a big surprise. I don't think any fans will be all that surprised if their teams loses to Maryland at home. As far as fouling at the end, I think State wanted to foul but the Maryland player blew by the defender and it was too late to foul, could not foul him then or it would have been a shooting foul. And the officials were terrible tonight, it did not have anything to do with the outcome of the game and they called very badly on both teams

Pitiful, but still should have won the game. Two trips to make it a three or four point game. Left the door open and deserved what they got. Same old Pack against a pretty bad Maryland team. Knew this could happen, but thought these guys had learned, but same players as last year not getting it done. No excuse in this one. The whole group should be ashammed of themselves, coaches included. If you want to be the best in the ACC, you don't play like this after beating Duke. Very discusting, but I'll bet they go on on 5-6 game winning streak now. At least they better after this showing!!!

I dont blame the officials at all, they let them play and state did not get it done, i guess we have to learn from this one and let the unc trolls enjoy it. We really should have fouled though or at least boxed out

We have a 2008 banner too? Cool! That means we have 6 without counting the Helms Foundation.

When Howell, or any other player, loses his grip on the ball, gets in too big of a hurry to shoot, the end result is often a turnover. Grantd, many time, the defense does knock it away, but tonight, I believe the play you speak of, Howell just plain lost the ball.

Both teams really stunk it up tonight, but that had to be one of the worst officiated games that I have watched in a long time (on both ends of the court). The ACC deserves better.

What's our weakness? - Rebounding (second chance points). What burned us tonight? the same thing! POOR STRATEGY at the end, Gottfried. You had 3 fouls to give and force more inbound throws. Why not? Maybe this will wake up NC State from our poor defense.

Our weakness is a lack of offensive cohesiveness. We do not move without the ball well and our passing and ball movement is atrocious. Leslie tries to dribble in 1 on 3, which means there should be 2 guys open somewhere. But those guys stand around and watch Leslie try to do it all when they should be moving without the ball to an open spot so Leslie, or whomever is being double and triple teamed can find them

State got "Swofford"
