3779LRRP--you hit the nail on the head. The image of bunny rabbits and cuddle kittens don't exactly come to mind, if you get the best of someone who has tried his best to kill you the past hour or so..and watch some of your brothers bleed, or put in body bags. Some people don't seem to realize how this effects a person, in this type of situation. Not that it was right..but, somehow I understand.

Geeze...at least they didn't collect skulls as some Marines did in WWII, or gold teeth of Japanese. I guess it's hard to befriend somebody who has tried their best to kill you the last hour or so and slit you from eyeball to crotch. These things have went on, forever...kids in a battlezone basically. It's just the media is far more involved, as well as tech. No, I don't think it is right, but I can understand the mentality I would take, if somebody was trying to kill me.

Soviet pilots committed suicide rather than fall into the hands of the mujahadeen.(the talibans precursor) Do put it as nicely as possible, they were 'used' before they were executed. I saw what Saddam's army core did to the families of deserters, in attempting to make examples of them. No mercy/pity/humanity when you fall into the hands of those people.
