" He will be a puppet for Charter schools and home schooling."

LOL

Not a puppet for the might home school juggernaut! What could be more sinister than being controlled by moms' at their kitchen tables.

Lose your preposterous fear mongering.

For those here chiding Lt. Gov. Forest as he hasn't even been in office a full day yet. Ya'll just have way too much fish to fry.

Little Danny ran on his mommy's name, money and friends. If you really knew him you would be scared to death, even though he has little power. Any power in his hands is really scary. He will be a puppet for Charter schools and home schooling.

the Lt. Governor might be responsible to do much - but he sure does collect a nice salary on a monthly basis. Furthermore, this story is about the Lt. Governor so any of you that feel you want to make comments about those on the Governors staff need to wait for a story about him to make any other comments. thank you for your consideration

First off, the governors office in NC is not very powerful by design. The legislature is where the power is. Secondly.....money has ALWAYS been influential in politics....for as long as there has been politics. It exists on BOTH sides of the aisle.

I am not giving Liberals any pass on this either. Just because it has always been there doesn't make it right. Can't you see that is exactly the problem? We need to get the money out! Pope is now highly influential in pulling the purse strings. I think that is a very powerful position.

I wonder how many decades we have to continue with the whining about this media source is liberal and this media source is conservative. Who cares. If you don't like what you are seeing, you are free to tune in elsewhere. The continual crying over it is frankly a waste of time.

GravyPig: You are a genius! (Actually that is why I posted on this one.)

Steven: yes, you did not get my point. My point is basically that WRAL is clearly liberally biased, and for an organization that CLAIMS to WANT to deliver the news impartially, this tendencdy of being so obviously slanted toward the libs (Perdue, Barber, Obama) is contrary to unbiased media (which may be an oxymoron).

The Lt. Gov will likely be the tie breaking vote on the Board of Education after Gov McCrory appoints Republicans to seats being vacated (4 or 5 I believe). Given his outspoken ideas on charter schools and vouchers, this Lt. Gov (whether you like him or not) is likely to have more power than any in recent (or ever) history.

Steven, you do not get the point of that post. WRAL NEVER deletes ALL messages and closes a story for comments like they have the McCroy promises one. It was strange and whether this board is privately owned or not is not the point. Most people on here pay attention to out-of-norm behavior.

"Why is the Governor McCrory blog post closed for comments? I know you liberals don't like criticism, but seriously what about freedom of speech?" by injameswetrust2003

You do understand the concept of a privately owned message board, right? They have the right to allow or not allow comments, or delete ones that are made all they want. You don't have the right to speech in a privately owned setting. You get the opportunity to do so via their good graces.
