Shady!

15K bond for 50 bucks.. Class H felony

I've seen stores in NJ lose their lottery licence over scams like this. NEVER give your ticket to the clerk to check if its a winner. Always check yourself.

in other states you can scan your own lottery ticket at lottery retailers. Im not sure why NC does not offer this service to its lottery customers? Things like this do not happen in states that allow scanning of your own lottery ticket.

Criminal activities like this that undermine the trust in the state lottery should be punished harshly. (and they are).

Hope it was worth the $50 for Kathleen McClusky.

"Just another reason why we don't need the lottery."

Why? Because somehow the lottery made this person into a thief? Ridiculous.

mayhem, if we didn't have the lottery she'd shortchange him or steal outright from the cash drawer. The lottery doesn't dictate anyone's character.

I NEVER let the cashier CHECK my numbers. I check them myself. JEEESH.

"A thief is a thief no matter the amount. What if it was your $50 and you had planned to use it to put food on the table for you kids? No love for a thief."

A thief is certainly a thief, you'll have no argument there. But if you planned to go win the lottery to put food on the table for your kids, you also need to change your priorities.

Just another reason why we don't need the lottery.
